Bravewords.com > News > GLENN DANZIG Talks Covers Album - "People Are Going To Be Totally Shocked"

LA Weekly's Danielle Bacher has issued an interview with DANZIG leader Glenn Danzig. An excerpt from the interview follows:

Q: You're set to release a covers album later this year. Why did you want to record a covers album, and how did you choose which songs would be on it?

A: "I just always wanted to. I haven't chosen all the songs that will be on it yet. It's definitely an eclectic blend of music. Of course, there will be a Sabbath cover and an Elvis cover on there. There will be other weird stuff, like one or two duets. But on some of the other stuff, people are going to be totally shocked. It actually turned out much better than I had planned. Now I can start writing and recording the Black Aria III record and the next Danzig record right after that."

There will be two separate tapings with very limited seating available at each one. Seperate tickets will be required for each as there will be different segments shot at each taping. Stay tuned for more information.

Bravewords.com > News > MONSTER MAGNET - First String Of Dates For 20th Anniversary Tour Announced For Europe

Have not seen them without Mundell, but if you get a chance MM is one of the rare bands I might actually leave the house to go see.

THAT was who sang Space Lord!!! I COULDN'T REMEMBER!!! That song was stuck in my head for like a week last month!!

"Aaaaooooowwwwhhhhhhhhh.....space lord mutha mutha..."

Damn! Now it's in my head AGAIN!!

Time to go download...

If I could recommend...Powertrip, Dopes to Infinity, Monolithic Baby. That's their best poppy*** spacemetal. Spine of God/Superjudge etc are good doomsludge but I prefer the better produced stuff with more formal song structure instead of 15 minute long acid trips.

***by poppy I mean it's more polished and groove oriented.
