GDT ***Los Angeles Kings @ New York Islanders GDT 3/13/26 4:00pm on FanDuel***

I think that ship has sailed unless it is for a very specific role which is what the Kings should aim for. Keep training him for faceoffs and then let him become a shut down center on a speedy offensively unproductive 3rd or 4th line.
Yup. Holland really needs to pull 2 rabbits out of his hat this summer - 1C and 1D. I wish him luck… and some guys on the current team shouldn’t be too complacent.

Did anyone try the qr code to win a jersey off the back? I was about 15 minutes behind watching the game and the code told me the contest was over.

Tonight reminds me why I continue to watch Los Angeles Kings hockey.

It’s been quite the evolution.

From my grandfather working for Jack Kent Cooke.
To Senate Seats at the Forum.
To being there for the Miracle on Manchester.
To standing next to Jim Fox watching the Stanley Cup being placed on center ice at the Forum.
To subsequently working for AEG on Staples Center (and breaking my f*ing neck setting up the advanced ticket office at 865 Figueroa).
To being at Staples for the Frenzy on Fig on my birthday.

It’s been quite a ride.

But it was the Gretzky trade that truly changed my life. I'll never forget that day. Worst day of my life. Temporarily.

Lost my child custody case in Sacramento. Driving home alone to LA through Bakersfield listening to country music on the local radio station when they made an announcement:

Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings.

I stopped on I-5 and got out of my truck and started dancing through a cornfield in the middle of nowhere.

I saw some people in a house not far away get up off their porch and start pointing at me.

Just another crazy person dancing in their cornfield on their way down to the City of Angels.

With his goal tonight, Juice is now tied for 4th in the League in Game Winning Goals with 7. He has definitely earned that handsome new contract. That goal tonight was some very special hockey talent on display.
Indeed. So was the pass that got it for him. That line is so much fun to watch.

Quite a story and history! I have to ask where were you in 2012 (and 2014 for that matter)?

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed Moore would score the first goal of the game and/or guessed that the D would combine for 10 points over the two games. Nobody guessed the combined 13 goals over 2 games:

Both Moore and 10 (2 points):
SirJW

Moore (1 point):

Chateau Bow Wow
jammer06
DRice
AngelEyes
randdog
Guinevere
Clif
Cross Traffic

10 points (1 point):
Nyssa42

SirJW with the second solo win even if Nyssa doesn't recognize it. We were delayed with the storms so I was trying to listen to the game on the plane but was delighted at the first period score. Couldnt catch the rest and maybe that was a good thing. On to Jersey

A couple of wild nights.

But the trippiest part of my journey is still what happened when I left that cornfield in Bakersfield and got back in my truck and headed back down to my home in LA and turned the radio back on.

This was playing:
