Sturm is a good coach by all accounts. You can't make chicken soup out of chicken ****. The Kings need a skill injection on the PP badly.
 
Not quite my wish... Mine was to send him back to Germany one way...

Still...who will be the next coach to sabotage our PP???

Exactly! The fact that people expect a decent PP with Kopitar, Iafallo and just about anyone else on the team, cringe.

Doesn't matter how good the coach is if the Kings keep showing deference to Kopi on the #1 pp.
It's time for real change to happen.

Kopitar wasn't the problem - which isn't to say that he does not need to improve but in the numerous problems which the Kings PP had last season, Kopi's play is not even in the top 10.

Yeah...as much as Kopitar slowed down recently when it comes to offensive production, the Kings' powerplay % problems seem to be a long-term trend that is a combination of a lack of a true sniper (ever since Jeff's scoring touch derailed), a lack of higher-end playmaking/scoring options and coaching that would be more effective at adapting to the fact that the Kings' offensive options on the PP are lacking, although they can't really do magic here.

When you compare LA Kings to the top-15 PP teams you see that there is a glaring difference in offensive talent on the PP units. Kopitar would desperately need a true sniper on at least one of his wings, and a consistent presence of a good scorer on the point (DD was injured for half a season). Without these you end up with a problem where the defense can concentrate on the playmaker too much and you end up having a PP snoozefest with a lack of quality scoring chances.

In other words, a PP coaching change can only help and some of the kids will need to step up.
 
I think Jim Hiller is the next Kings head coach.

I remember Hiller as a player...didn't the Kings trade him with Paul Coffey at one point? I also remember him playing (as a Kings prospect) in the NCAA championship game one year. 1990 or 91? Great game as I recall.
