GDT ***Nashville Predators vs. LA Kings Rematch GDT 4/6/26 7:30pm on FanDuelSoCal***

Great shot by Kempe to win the game in OT,but also a whiff by Forsberg and Evangelista gives the Kings 82 points and barely in the WC2 spot at least for maybe 24 hours, since the Preds play the Ducks tomorrow.A win by the Preds or even a point puts the Kings back out of the WC2 spot
Go Ducks Go! They need a win badly. Hope they play hungry.

Hell yeah, but the league installed a parity pity point system. Total stupidity in a best of the world league. They need a 3 point win, 1 point tie, and 0 for the loser. Play 60 minutes total. Play to WIN. Simple.
So go back to fans leaving a tie game? That would never fly even with the fans. I don't like it the way it is but I would never want to go back to tie games.

I think he was saying there would not be a tie, just no points for the OT loser. 3 for regulation, 1 for OT win, zero for loss. If I'm understanding it correctly.

Let's get wild. 5 points for a regulation win. 4 points for an OT win. 3 points for a SO win. 2 points for a shootout loss. 1 point for an OT loss. No points for a regulation loss.

I'd actually probably prefer a 3-2-1-0 system, but I really just don't like a system in which some games are worth more/less points than others. I don't ever like it for international soccer, but at least they reward ties. If we're not going to have ties, I don't like zero points for losing in a gimmicky OT/SO system.

I've run the numbers in the past, comparing the current system to a 3-2-1-0 system, and it generally didn't affect the playoff picture very much. But that probably didn't contemplate a true outlier season like this one.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed any of the five possible outcomes of first goal, gwg, total kings goals over 2 games, total preds goals over 2 games, and/or total PIM for both games:

Sorry for the late post but it was a travel day, and the list is freaking long. Congratulations to all you posters. Good to get the win, great first and second period, I was mad about the sit back in the third. They did come to play and I appreciate that effort. There are more games to go, lets hope they keep it focused on the ice for them.

Ah. But then why not 2 for regulation, 1 for OT win, zero for OT loss?

It’s stupid to bring back ties. The system should be three 3 points for regulation win, two points for an overtime win, one point for a shootout win and zero points for losing in overtime or shoot out.
The thing with that is it makes a mockery of old point records when you compare. So maybe 2,1, and 1/2 a point for shootout win. Or even use shootout victories as tiebreaks for the playoffs?

Nope.

With alli due respect, I want regulation wins. If we start stacking up the RW's it increases our odds of potentially controlling our own destiny and not relying on other teams failures.

Far as I'm concerned this is the biggest game of the year. Up to this point.

GKG!
Stacking up regulation wins? I think that ship has long sailed to catch anyone.
