I see the D as the biggest problem. DD and Mikey are really only a good bottom pair on a contender. Ed and Clarke are an OK middle pair. The killer is that we have no top pair. The forward group should be more than good enough to make the playoffs with a better more mobile D.

Yes, because the D is too slow to jump into the play and they don't create any threats on offense (other than a bit from Clarke). Other teams just clog the middle leaving the forwards no chance to get open. There is no big shot from the point. Ed has a good shot but he doesn't use it much or get if off quick. The pp would be even better with more offensive skill on the blueline.
