New Kings Jerseys for 2024-2025 Season

I would say $20,00 to $50,000, depending on the agency they used and the scope of the re-brand. Not only should they be creating logo guidelines, Illustrator EPS and Photoshop files, CMYK and RGB versions, but also resize it and repurpose it for all digital/social media, letterhead and stationary for the office, perhaps the agency is working on new OOH billboards with the logo and new photography, etc...

But yeah, they overpaid. They could've gone to a freelance designer and spent less than $10k

EDIT: Maybe upwards of $100,000, depending on scope

Could have paid me $100 to change the font and hit the bold button.

I just don't get it. It seems like, when it comes to logos, the management deliberately does the opposite of what the great majority of the fans want. Why?
Anything featuring either crown and some purple would be wildly popular. They must know it. Remember all the glowing on-air remarks from Alex Faust and Jim Fox about the retro crown jerseys a couple of years ago? I get not caring, but this seems like being perversely contrarian.

I like it. Don't love it. Feel like we here at LGK could have come up with something better.

But it's an improvement over the home plate design.

If you read the article or listen to the podcast, they are actually reacting to what the majority of fans apparently want, outside of purple and gold. They also consulted the with the players as to what they wanted. The chevy is incredibly popular, it will be well received by the majority of fans that have been buying up new releases of that merch over the past couple of years.

"For the Kings, player support and player input was important in the process. Getting the guys actually wearing the jerseys to buy in was an important first step. When several of them were polled, formally or informally, the feedback from that group was pretty direct and clear. Players were continually drawn to this mark, or at least a version of this mark, and those still with the team would be excited to wear it going forward.

The current group has worn two iterations of their 90’s era look – a straight throwback in 2019-20 and 2020-21 and what we’ve referred to as the “Chrome Domes” over the last three seasons, with an alternate jersey wearing a variation of the mark we’re seeing today.

Thankfully, the feedback from the fans was saying the same thing.

For Cheeseman, he said it started when the organization introduced the 90’s throwback look now five years ago.

Positive fan feedback rolled in and in some ways, money talked. Merchandise sales surrounding that mark specifically skyrocketed and feedback from the fans, via focus groups and other areas, showed that the fanbase is drawn to the logo that Kings wore for select games across those two seasons. Additionally, the feedback on social media that the team received regarding the look and feel of the team was overwhelmingly positive. This for a team that performed quite poorly on the ice that season. A breath of fresh air, perhaps, but the feeling towards that variation of the Kings logo persisted into the alternate jersey we’ve seen over the last couple of years."

If you don't have a pic of the actual hat people can buy, don't put up a third grade level mock up. C'mon.

The crowns have always been the best part of any Kings logo,

OK, if that's what most fans want, great. At least people won't be asking me, "What's a home plate doing on a hockey jersey?"

Well, the new jerseys certainly look better than the 2011-2019 era and 2020-2024 era versions, but, still, I prefer that the Kings did a modern rebranding of either the purple and gold era pre-1988 jerseys or the 1998-2011 purple, silver, and black era jerseys. To me, as much as I like the pre-1988 era purple and gold jerseys, I have a soft spot for the 1998-2011 era purple, silver, and black jerseys, especially the shield logo at the front of the jersey (1998-2002 era).

I guess going back to their 88-98 era black, white, and silver looks makes sense. For me, I'm 50-50 with my feelings with them. And I've noticed just now, this site has changed its theme to the current looks of our soon-to-be-current jerseys for next season. It looks bleak and monochrome to me and I liked the old theme better.
