I've generally stayed out of the talk complaining about Faust, trying to give him every benefit of the doubt for having to step in and replace an actual Hall of fame legend, but I can't count how many times I pushed mute tonight when he was waxing on some super Jinxy, exactly what you don't want to hear tangent in a super competitive checking game. For the life of me I'll never understand how Nick Nickson isn't in that booth. The radio broadcast is so classic, traditional and measured. It's light years better than the TV crew, and I generally love and appreciate Fox.

100% agree. There are times when I have to work late or need to run an errand and turn on the radio broadcast because I can't watch the game. The radio coverage is so superior to Faust's coverage that it isn't even funny. Like you said, it is a classic, traditional and measured broadcast. If the Kings are playing well, they acknowledge it. If the Kings are playing poorly, they acknowledge that too. It is actual hockey play-by-play. The TV broadcast is a bunch of cheerleader homers hyping all the players and telling us which player's dad was the best at Karaoke during the dads trip.

So... do we think Korpisalo will get the start when Columbus comes to town on Thursday?

I think they'll keep platooning them until the playoffs unless one falls on his face or gets injured. Then they'll make the decision for the playoffs.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed the GWG would be a PP goal and/or got within +/-2 of 44 hits combined in the game:

Power Play (1 Point):
jammer06
Byron
randdog
dannybuoy1
Bill Hicks
sonnyboy11
empire
hihocarp
Chateau Bow Wow
Nyssa42

44 Hits (3 points):
DRice
hihocarp

43-45 Hits (2 points):
jammer06
Helvetica
AngelEyes
Chateau Bow Wow

42-46 Hits (1 point):
kingmen93
beady eye
srm1105
Kurisu
kingrussell

Special note to hihocarp who got the max 4 points on this one! For the game, it was good to see the boys respond to a tough first. Great to see the Lizotte line get their mistake back and for the PP to really push the game. Korpisalo did what he needed to do with the lead and they finished it out. I know the penalty by Q wasn't great but good for him to put the dagger in. Hopefully everyone makes it hard to figure out where Fiala comes back into the lineup at.

Yeah it's sad. I hope Faust is done when his contract ends, or however that works. Having stats shoved in my face nonstop is not interesting, nor is the constant jinxing. I swear Alex wants to call Jim "young man" but has to hold it back every time he talks.

According to Nick - he was interested - the organization was not.

Alex has borrowed - EVERY SINGLE TERM Jim has used - then uses it ad nauseum .

"Gets Position"
"Do-si-Do"
"Right place - Right time"

That's a little disturbing. Get a "young face" for younger crowd? IDK.

You're probably right, and Copley will play in the established rotation. But the matchup of Korpisalo vs. Columbus would have added so much drama!

Kings don't need drama. Just continue to keep on winning. The drama comes in the playoffs.

I like this a lot. The Kings just need to handle their business. Todd could even comment to the press that Korpi vs Columbus would have been a cool story, but the team is focused on making the playoffs and executing the every-other-game rotation. He could add that many of the players are making sacrifices in their roles and ice time for the greater good and this is just another example of the team's on the playoffs and not individual stats or stories.

My comments were far more light-hearted than y'all are portraying them. Please... I was/am fully aware that the rotation dictated Copley would get the start.

But we are in Hollywood and the matchup vs Korpisalo would be a good script... y'know like musing about Quick facing the Kings in Round 2...
