Step one of a long and winding journey has been completed, as the Kings officially qualified for the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs this week. With that as the lead in, Mayor’s Minutes returned to NHL Network Radio for another all-new segment. As usual, John Hoven joined Jake Hahn and Victoria Matiash to offer a whole new round of hot takes and hockey related opinions. Among the topics covered this week include Anton Forsberg’s recent hot streak in goal, Jonathan Quick’s final game as a player, his probability of making the Hall of Fame, where Quinton Byfield fits into what the Kings are doing right now (and in the future), and what to do when Andrei Kuzmenko returns. As if that’s not enough to talk about, they also spent time delving into various playoff options, such as LA-Edmonton, LA-Vegas, LA-Colorado, and even LA-Anaheim.
