All good things eventually come to an end. After a more than 40-year run, Kings broadcaster Nick Nickson is set to retire at the completion of LA’s 2024-25 season. He’s been the “Voice of the Kings” across radio and television for more than 3,800 games with the organization. During his Hall of Fame career, Nickson has called more than 4,000 professional games, including close to 500 in the AHL during his early days on the job.

Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena, the veteran play-by-play man was honored with a pregame ceremony and shared thoughts with the media — videos of both are available below.

During his Q&A session, Nickson referenced some of his 500 goal calls:

On January 7, 1999, @LAKings left wing Luc Robitaille became the 27th player in NHL history to reach the 500-goal milestone. Robitaille scored two goals, and Pavel Rosa recorded two points in a 4-2 win against the Buffalo Sabres.#LAKings #GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/tqHzAi7gSv
