This is a quick and dirty WTS. Screenshots of some choice Oiler takes primarily from Twitter. Will update as appropriate. Please add to it if you find any Oil unhinged.

Wow...just wow. The 'nhl is rigged', 'bettman hates canada' shtick is classic oiler whining (Hello? #1 overall picks much?) ...But the Draisaitl hit on Barkov crap is some real delusional rationalizing-- that was a brutal, left his feet, elbow to the jaw -- (and 2 mins? They should've been grateful Leon wasn't given a game and 5) just imagine if Mcjesus was on the receiving end of such a hit... The gnashing of teeth and rending of garments would've been unending.

Hooo boy... I really dislike this team and their fanbase. I hope McDirty never gets his grubby paws on the cup.
It’s been obvious for at least a few years that the Oiler fans are beyond belief. They are way past being homers, they’re delusional.
The Draisaitl hit was terrible. No need to describe it, everything was clearly visible. Leon was a guided missile on that hit. This is the part of Draisaitl that I just don’t have any respect for.

While it should have been a game plus five, and there should be a suspension, we all know it’s not going to happen.
The NHL is going to milk every bit of McDavid and Draisaitl for ratings and revenue.

We all know how protected the EDM duo are. And absolutely there would be a suspension if this were either of them as the target.
But we know better.

As for Parros, I honestly doubt he is the guy who makes some of these decisions. Not excusing him but Draisaitl isn’t losing a playoff game or two because Parros says so.

Oilers fans are too much. They are all over FB as well claiming none of dirty hits by the Oilers should have been penalized. It's just out of control fan base whining.

Blows my mind this guy was an NHL coach and has a take like this.
Makes me lose a lot of respect for Bruce. Whether or not the intent was injure, Drai left his feet with significant contact made to the opposing team's best players neck/head. One goal on the resulting PP does not wash that hit away...

I don't know when Drai became a win at all costs player but while watching him the last 3 years in the playoffs I have seen too many dirty plays by him to think they are all merely coincidence.

All great points. If McDavid makes that hit, I’m probably giving him the benefit of the doubt. I don’t see him make dirty plays, especially after the whistle. I’m sure he isn’t perfect, but I can’t recall one dirty incident off the top of my head. I can think of MULTIPLE dirty, even after the whistle, instances from Draisaital.

It was a direct elbow to the guy’s face. That’s a textbook suspension scenario. Throw in leaving his feet, it’s gotta be a lock. IMO, one game is probably sufficient, but it’s gotta be at least one.

And, it just boggles my mind to hear this from an NHL coach. So, if some guy goes flying into your captain and top scorers on your team with an elbow and leaves his feet, you’ll chalk it up to “it’s a rough sport” and “he didn’t mean to do it because there was only a few mins left in the game?” C’mon bud. We all know you’d flip your lid, calling for a suspension. And rightfully so. He really shouldn’t have made this video.

So the league favors non-Canadian teams. OK....sure.

BTW, the Oilers have won three draft lotteries in the last 15 years or so. I just thought I'd point that out for no particular reason.

Were there not a consecutive #1's?

History on Florida side.
In the first two games in the final, Edmonton scored just once.
This is the fifth case in the history of the Stanley cup (for series up to 4 wins).
"Toronto (1945) against Detroit
"Montreal (1957) against Boston
"New Jersey (2003) against Anaheim
" Detroit (2008) against Pittsburgh
"Edmonton (2024) against Florida
All teams who allowed 1 goal or less won Stanley cup,but 2003 and 1945 series went to 7 game.

McDavid gets away with lots of crap: diving, punching, spearing....never gets called - or - goes ape-sh-t when he gets caught.
Here's to the Carolina....I mean...Florida Panthers to take game 3 Thursday.
Exactly right, which is why despite his immense talent I have little respect for him. I just have no appreciation for how he plays.
Hilarious about the Carolina Panthers. Good grief.
