Kings showed some heart by pushing back after that bad 1st. I'll take a point out of that one.
 
Such a bad lineup to put out there in OT. Kopi is slow, Kempe is undisciplined, and Doughty is slow and undisciplined. They each have their place in OT, but not out there together.
 
What the hell is Doughty doing out there staring at the play in the corner while his man just takes off. “Kings with experience out there to start” Fox. Jeez give me some youth out there on these three on threes.
 
“Let me guess… Kopitar, Kempe, Doughty? They’re gonna get destroyed.” is literally what I said right before OT started.
 
If the Kings get three points out of this home-stand, I'll take it. Beat Arizona and it's a decent home-stand.
 
I would think Fiala is a no-brainer starting OT forward. Kempe is fast, but Fiala is more slippery and creative.

The Kings aren't long for 3rd place in their division, I don't believe they drop into last place, however if they stay up in the top 6, that would be a great accomplishment.
 
Neither Doughty nor Kopitar have a clue in modern 3 on 3 hockey. That was painful to watch.
 
I’m usually the last guy on the “dump the coach” train, but TM just really is not getting it done. I don’t think he’s the right guy to get the Kings to next level. He just can’t seem to push the right buttons. It may be time to make a change.

What gets me is that the Kings brain trust saw his track record (choking away a 3-0 series lead to this[!] team, getting nothing done with the best player in the world, etc.) and were like, yup, this is the guy for us. He is a mediocre coach at best.
 
This team will not anywhere until Kopi and Doughty are no longer part of it. At this point I would like the kings to miss the playoffs so the management can go scorched earth . Need to get a young coach who has no ties with the kings .
 
That OT was infuriating. Kopi had a chance to get to that puck, but he went at turtle pace!!
 
I think it's time the coaches embrace the rebuild changes that are apparent to everyone with the naked eye test. Just like that second PP unit looks more creative and energized than the Kopi unit, same goes for OT, and maybe even the 1st line.

I wonder what swapping the usage of Kopi and Danault would look like.

Fiala - Danault - Kempe
Moore - Kopi - Arvi / Vilardi

The starting OT three needs a complete revamp with a fresh look. Kopi and Dewy were good like 10 year ago when we had Carter in the mix. Time for some fresh blood.
 
I agree with everyone who says that starting Kopi, Kempe, & Doughty needs to not happen anymore. Whether they go out later or split them up entirely I’m not sure. But great job in getting a point & great job by Kaliyev getting the 2 goals. But I wish he would’ve been out there more in the 3rd trying to get the hat trick. He definitely needs more ice time. I also credit Durzi for just holding on to the puck at the end of the game & not trying to go up the middle with a pass. Baby steps. J/k.
 
Kings getting outmuscled by some teams is really standing out to me more this year. Not sure if it’s actually worse or not, but last year they at least had a good forecheck and were able to translate that to high shooting volumes in most games. It’s hit or miss this year. The D is another issue but along those lines the Kings zone is not a scary place to go in the least.

Some of this will need to be corrected with Byfield, Vilardi, Kaliyev, and Anderson growing up and getting meaner. Helenius should hopefully be ready before too long. If Kupari sticks he’s got size and will need to use it. For sure outside help on the backend is needed as soon as possible.
