Pretty much never a good idea to hire a new GM and give him a coach shield.The narrative that Holland gets a free pass with Hiller since he's not his guy is not helping matters
It's as if you give your GM an automatic additional year on his contract as he can blame a failed first season on the last clown GM's coach hire.
Then new GM gets to hire new coach (system) and gain yet another year by explaining away new roster + new coach + new system needs some time to gel. (another year)
My money is on Danny B. saying Uncle Phil does not want to cut pay checks for yet another coach who is not currently coaching the Kings.
Tying the hands of your GM with the previous GM's coach/system is a poor plan.
