Personnel, or Management Issues?

The narrative that Holland gets a free pass with Hiller since he's not his guy is not helping matters
Pretty much never a good idea to hire a new GM and give him a coach shield.
It's as if you give your GM an automatic additional year on his contract as he can blame a failed first season on the last clown GM's coach hire.

Then new GM gets to hire new coach (system) and gain yet another year by explaining away new roster + new coach + new system needs some time to gel. (another year)

My money is on Danny B. saying Uncle Phil does not want to cut pay checks for yet another coach who is not currently coaching the Kings.

Tying the hands of your GM with the previous GM's coach/system is a poor plan.

So many things to fix or come together ...

Kings are allowing more shots ... that needs to improve. 29.5 shots pg compared to 25.5 last year.
PK/Discipline - PK isn't doing well and stop taking so many penalties! 7.7 min/game avg last year, now 13.6min/game! PK rate 70.4%, down from 81.4 last year.
Shooting percentage - Kings are still generating good changes but conversion is down. 16.7% ... down from 20.3% last year

Kings have the pieces and structure to be competitive and make the playoffs again. Not ready to panic yet but if they're still "coming together" at ~20 games it may not happen.

To me after watching the games so far. I am seeing a big problem that I consider falls upon the coaching staff.
I believe that they are making a big mistake with their choice of personal on the power plays.
The 5 forward "1st unit" lacks a true power play quarterback and is putting players out of position and most of the skill players. The "2nd unit" has both Clarke and Doughty who are both PP QB's.
They really need to move Clarke to PP1 to QB it and put one of the top skill forwards to the 2nd unit.

I cannot argue with this.

by default it mgmt, they chose the personnel

When I mentioned personnel, it was more about the underachieving of some of the players, and the lackluster effort as much as the current makeup of the team.
