Phillip Danault admits: the Pierre-Luc Dubois saga “hurt the Kings”.

It really did not say much. Losing key players and Dubois was putting too much pressure on himself to perform.
Agreed, I have seen some report on this article as though it is damning etc... That is why I was saying grain of salt.

The Pierre-Luc Dubois Saga sounds like a comic book story.

It is pretty much Capt Obvious stuff. I don't see anything out of context. We gave up a lot to get PLD with hopes of getting out of the first round and it didn't work. The most controversial part is the talk of maybe trading Danault as he enters year 4 of his 6-year deal.

There are other versions, or reports on the original article where folks make a big deal about it. I saw this and heard of it and was not going to mention it, but then thought to bring it up just so people can see the original. Unless you know french then you need to go with an online translater.

Also, players often do not state the obvious.

“We have good young people. Are they going to need more ice time? I don't know. It’s still been three years since we found ourselves in the playoffs. We push... We don’t know, maybe it would have been better for us to face Vancouver in the playoffs,” LOL

True. I didn't mean to come across as shooting the messenger. So thanks for posting the article. Yeah, people like to make a big deal out of everything these days to get clicks and stuff like that. There's pretty much nothing controversial in my opinion. As I said before, the disappointment of giving up a bunch of assets for PLD and having no improvement in playoff run is a valid observation and not a complaint.

He didn't have to say it, it was pretty clear that he was a bust even before the trade occurred. How Blake keeps his job is really crazy.

Ultimately its kinda like buying a boat. Really happy when you get it, but even happier when you get rid of it…..

All I knew is that PLD had a big strapping body. So far three teams have given up on him in a short period of time.

Lol. If Blake was on the ice, suited up and all, he needed to dust off his infamous hip check to get his point across, lol. ;)

I am still annoyed, but I realize that because of my bias, I didn't realize that Blake probably felt a real sense of guilt in getting PLD. Like a super expensive version of when I was a kid and made my dad rent the Garbage Pail Kids movie because it was gonna be good. And us seeing it and it being crap. I learned real shame that day. :mhihi: :manybeers:

Some trades work, and some don't. I had no faith that PLD was going to do anything but be average, and even that was a bridge too far. Oh well... just part of Kings history now.

PLD will be getting a significant amount of attention in Washington with the media coverage of Ovechkin chasing the record.
