I don't know where that Forsberg performance came from but the NHL hasn't seen goaltending that poor since Ned and the sharks about a week ago. For an understanding of how badly tending like that can shake a team, watch Doughty on the short handed goal. When was the last time you saw him go full passenger controller disconnect. If this room is losing "wants to be on olympic team Doughty" in the first 2 weeks of the season.....Well lets just say the first period was rainbow and unicorn farts and the second was not. In a vacuum a massively frustrating game especially since we saw Q absolutely take over 3 shifts in the first. In the larger context of this team needing to bank points...thats the neat thing, they're not.

That might be the worst goaltending performance I've seen by any Kings goalie in 40 years, since the days of Gary freakin Laskoski. I had this one circled on the calendar as a game I was considering attending. Thank God the Dodgers saved me.

If I had been there for this game, I would have been furious, then depressed. Talk about deflating. Any optimism I had about this team was crushed last night.
I was there and you summed up how I felt and now feel. I will be getting my birthday club offer soon and I'm not sure I want to spend time and money to come back to that. The arena and the team were both low energy. The Kings passing was often attrocious. The goaltending was pitiful.

There's no way this team wins the Cup. Holland took last season's team, spent a ton of cap space and made it worse.

I forgot who said that Forsberg was "swiss cheese" during one of the pre-season games and tonight basically proved it. lol

Was there in person. Fun first period, was feeling good. And then it all fell apart. Team just cannot generate any consistent solid play. And the crowd was much lower than opening night...whether that was the 7pm start (I prefer this on a weekday) or fans are just over it. It's still early, teams can figure it out BUT if they are still struggling 20 games in, I would be fine with them just missing the playoffs altogether. Oh, and fire Hiller at that point.

Let's be honest with ourselves, it's only been 5 games and the Kings have been competitive in 4 out of the 5, which included a stretch of top teams. The best scenario really may be that the Kings end up in the lottery and start rebuilding their prospect pool (maybe even getting lucky enough to get a top pick).

We know it's very unlikely the Kings will be able to sign a top FA to replace Kopi, and a significant amount of the team is aging quickly.

That said, the Kings have done more with less and with the right coaching choice I still think they could turn things around.

For those questioning Byfield, he has been one of the best, if not the best, forwards out there so far this season and is averaging a point per game. Yes he still lacks experience and needs to improve on decision making, but, to me, it's silly to constantly attack our top player when many vets (with much higher pay rates) are under performing. The Kings have pieces to build around, and Byfield is the prime piece currently.

Clarke and Turcotte are our other bright spots, thus far, both of which have significant improvements to make and will keep growing. Anderson seems to be our one constant. Add with players like Laf, Helenius, Foegele, Fiala and Kempe and we have a pretty solid squad to build around. As ruluctant as the Kings have been to do so, you've got to think the Organization will be forced to once Kopi retires. Hopefully that means a deep gutting of the Organization which includes the coach, GM and President.

Until Luc goes, this Organization will continue to struggle. We know it's all about the profits for this Org, and judging by yesterday's game it seemed like there were a lot of empty seats. Perhaps the fans are finally taking action...

It feels like he has taken a step back again. Hopefully he can build that confidence back up to where he was towards the end of last season.

And did we have any Kempe discussion during this game? (Still driving home).... The man is INVISIBLE!! I can't believe he would be playing this poorly just out of spite over contract talks. Maybe he has an injury? Or his wife makes him get up to feed the baby every night??
When every good player suddenly looks bad and disinterested I start to ask if it’s the players who are the problem…

I think we all need to relax, sit back and just watch, with zero expectations. It's much easier on the brain and body.
True. I will continue to go and support the players...but I don't expect much based on the play right now. They could of course turn it around and then break our hearts by losing in the first round again.

THIS!!^^^^ I have hated it since it started, but now it just feels stupid.....and the whole opening using Black Parade and pics from the Cup runs is just depressing
Yeah, too much living in the past. Black parade was awesome for its time (especially little Drew wanting to be a hockey player) but the opening felt very cheap and cheesy to me.

Also what was with the slightly tweaked versions of the historical Staples/Crypto songs like the Power Ride (goal song) and Black Betty? Are the kings trying to get away with not paying royalties in the entertainment capital of the world?

I'm going to sound like Moog complaining about departures in the business office, but the game day presentation seems to have declined a lot since Brooklyn Boyers left. The Yamava prize wheel prize was a pie to the face?!?
