Probably true. It looks like the Ducks, Sharks, Mammoth & ‘hawks will be occupying those playoff spots the Kings owned for the next few years. I’m skeptical of Holland’s ability to build a winning team. Maybe he will surprise me. I hope he does

They didn’t go through the motions. They played a game plan very well that could not hold up against the class of the league. There’s information to glean from that. Plenty of time to talk about that in detail the next few months.

I'm not sure what information was gained? The only thing we learned was that the Avs are a better team, and that the Kings had no chance of beating them. Not sure how anyone didn't know this before the series started.

Not sure how much input he really has on the direction of the team, especially now, but I’d be fine with trading him to a team he’d want to go to. Otherwise, IMO, he’s earned the right to retire here, if he wants. He has not, however, obtained the right to dictate the future of this team.

Notably, had he (and this org) accepted a rebuild after 2014, we’d probably be dark horses by now. At this point, we’re perennial pretenders, and I think this is the last year of it.
