***Playoffs RD 1, GM 4 Edmonton Oilers vs. LA Kings GDT 5/8/22 7:00pm on BSW & TBS***

Mini is cracking up because the first Grundy goal is listed as a wrist shot. He's sure the Edmonton fans are going to bitch about the league being in cahoots not having it go in off the stick.

I have to decide whether to gloat or keep my mouth shut when working with the locals tomorrow at Rogers Place.

Well, well, well??I was thinking we didn?t have it in us. WHAT A GREAT GAME! Off to Edmonton to hopefully put a big nail in the Oil?s coffin.

Just wear a Quick jersey. Should say it all without having to say a word.

Great great game by the Kings. Intense, hard working and not allowing the Oilers big boys to find any room. Very proud of this team. I admit I thought this series was done. It's a brand new 3 game series now! GO KINGS GO!!

This was a deeply satisfying win for Kings fans. I know, I know, long ways to go for the series. But this sure felt good.

welp, I'm deaf now, but totally worth it! (and I had ear plugs in for a lot of the game!) I cannot comprehend how those were the same teams that played on Friday - clearly we need Stetcher in the lineup! Every pass was perfect, every Oilers puck carrier was double-teamed, and Quick's Jedi Mind Tricks were in full force. But, I really can't understand how McDavid & Draisaitl were so stifled when they seemed to have free run on Friday........

And BLAKE Freakin' LIZOTTE!!!! I have loved this dude since he joined the team, but tonight he took it to a whole other level.

I can't wait till Thursday!!! (I know we have to get through Tuesday....)

It is always a great game when I go. Hopefully they keep playing like this :)

Also found all the "timeouts" at the end hilarious.

I don't want to jinx anything or make any predictions, but that was the kind of matchup I hoped we could figure out on home ice. Deploy Danault and Kopi to tangle up their two big guys and out-scrap and hustle them with everyone else.

As much as we've talked about how this was all about learning experience and teaching the young guys big moments and playoff pressure, responding with a shutout after being humiliated the previous two games is as good as that gets.

Now get ready, because they're going to be pissed back in Edmonton.

This was such an awesome win! Such a great effort by the guys playing physical & not giving the Oilers any room. That goal Grundstrom scored just barreling to the net & getting tripped, what an effort on that one. I don't know if it's a fact but it really seems like every time when he's back in the lineup he scores a goal. And of course the Oilers have to start crap afterwards. What a bunch of babies. And that Kane eye gouge attempt, he's such a scumbag. I hope the league disciplines him. I also have to give praise to Mikey Anderson. The whole team played physical but he led the way. It's almost funny how this team got creamed for the last 2 games but it's still a 2-2 series. Which means there's a game 6 & a final home game unless we win. Which, hell yeah we can. Go Kings Go!

MY STARS OF THE GAME:

3) Moore
2) Grundstrom
1) Quicky

can't leave Anderson off that list, he was huge in shutting down McDavid and had a physical presence (6 hits) the Kings really needed. Brown also gets honorable mention (5 hits and playing a wrecking ball role many on here thought he was no longer capable of) along with Lizotte (buzzing on the forecheck and being a thorn in Edmontn's side all night) and Lemiuex (good physical game without giving up plays on the defensive end or taking bad penalties) - so nice to have an effective line other than just Danault's.

Despite all the heat TMac has taken this year by some fans, he definitely pushed all the right buttons last night: 1) coming back with Quick in net (not that there was much doubt), 2) inserting Grundstrom 3) inserting Stecher and changing the D-pairs. 24 hours ago, this felt like this series was going to be over in 5 games. Now, it feels like it could go either way.
