Bieksa laid out the obvious flaw with the Kings 1-3-1 in that they’re standing still when the play is coming to them. Oilers forwards are fast enough to just skate by them and make offensive plays. 1-3-1 doesn’t work against them. And the Kings have no answer for it

I think their defense is still pretty terrible, but the Kings aren't good enough to put any pressure on their defense. And Skinner sucks, but the Kings can't disrupt him or get any traffic for the few shots they do get. Oilers will get exposed in the next round, but the Kings are a total fraud.

The Avs and Stars will shred this Oilers defense. But the Oilers can win a track meet style game so I wouldn’t count them out.

It can work if the defenders aren’t standing still. Standing still in the path a skater coming at you full speed makes maintaining the defensive structure impossible.

It doesn’t work. Not against the Oilers. The win/loss column speaks for itself. Kings need an alternate game plan against them. They don’t have one.
