***Playoffs Round 1, Game 1 GDT Oilers vs. Kings 4/21/25 7:00pm on ESPN2 & FanDuel***

Oh, and I have to add a couple more things.

One, even after McDavid tied the game last night, I knew the Kings would come back and win because it was my birthday. And the track record on (or around) my birthday in the playoffs is very very good.

Two, after last night, I moved my Danault bobblehead into the center of my Kings altar.

After 60 years I have quite a collection of Kings goodies in here, and now Phillip is front and center after his flutterball last night. Along with Moore, he played a very good game last night, one of his best as a King.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Thanks Susan!

67 years old, but I had a hell of a birthday...AC/DC Friday night...I can't believe it took 52 years to finally see them, but better late than never...and the Kings came through for me, again...but they almost gave me a heart attack, again!

Did Angus go shirtless/basically naked for a 20 minute solo? I saw them in Anaheim like.. 2007 or something and it was funny to me seeing 50 something Angus still acting like 20 something Angus. It was after that concert I started wearing earbuds to concert for hearing protection cause I was like delirious when the show was over, all wobbly and couldn't stand up for awhile - I was right next to a speaker and god damn.

No. Since it was 50° he kept the shirt on. But man oh man the guy still has it. Big show. It's hard to make the Rose Bowl look small, but AC/DC accomplished just that. Reportedly there were 91,000 people in attendance and I can tell you first hand it sure seemed like there was 91,000 people there. It was jam-packed.

I've been to over 500 concerts since 1975, but I think the first one, Pink Floyd at the Sports Arena for the Raving and Drooling tour, was the loudest. However the only ear damage I ever had standing up front was the Butthole Surfers in San Diego in 2010. As they began to play the song "To Parter" the security guys next to me started putting earplugs in and I'm like "Why are you wearing ear plugs?" He just smiled and said "You'll see."

Yup. I saw. I now have permanent hearing damage in my left ear.

Good times!

Lol - sorry about the ears. 91k is a big ass show. Good the shirt didn't come off I think - but yeah he still delivers. I'm 34 and play and my hands are slowing down, IDK how they keep it up forever (didn't grow up with keyboards I suppose). Never been to the Rose Bowl, just driven by. I have tinnitus from the military and jets taking off next to my head all day (rude) and probably just.. music in general. Especially in the car. That's a nice resume of shows - I have a binder on the closet with tickets to everything, I'd guess.. maybe 50 since about 2005. Maybe more. Some highlights for me were Clapton at the Bowl, BB King in Mississippi, Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys (saw him in Long Beach, drank way too much, front row - was just an absolute blast - got to talk to him (who was a sort of idol at the time) and the guitar player for awhile, which was real cool), Warbringer (thrash metal band) in Portland, Primus, some Pink Floyd cover stuff like Aussie PF, who were great. Born in the wrong year for the bands I like but I try lol.. Last one we saw was Gov't Mule out in North Carolina about 2 years ago. Happy birthday! Only turn 67 3 or 4 times I think if my math is right.

AC/DC was amazing. 70 year old Angus still can bring it. The only thing that surprised me was fireworks at the very end of the show and not during "For Those About to Rock". In college, we'd crank that song loud as heck and then do a 21 bottle rocket salute when it was ending.

Oh yeah for Kings-Oilers, this made me laugh.

Nice!

I saw Clapton play with Roger Waters on his Pros and Cons tour in New Jersey in 1985. We saw Les Claypool in Hollywood in 2002, and he had Buckethead with him. That guy's amazing!

Aussie Pink Floyd is very good. My buddies are in the Pink Floyd cover band Which One's Pink?, and they're also excellent. And still going strong after 27 years.

I'd only been to the Rose Bowl for concerts twice, and that was for Pink Floyd (Pink Fraud; no Waters) in '94.

But you got to hand it to AC/DC: They put on the hell of a show and Angus is still a freakin Madman!

Corey Perry. POS. After the game was over Byfield tried to recover the game puck which was near the EDM bench. Perry saw that Q wanted the puck so Perry picked up the puck, put it in his glove, and skated away. Q asked for the puck, Perry declined, and then one of the refs came over and tried to take the puck out of Perry’s glove but he gripped the puck and wouldn’t let go. Perry then turned around and went down the tunnel. What a POS.
Once a duck, ALWAYS a duck...

Aside from the parking situation, I like the Rose Bowl for concerts. It is waaaaay better than SoFi for acoustics.

I've seen U2, Metallica, Coldplay, and now AC/DC there. I'll see the Oasis reunion later this year. And PSG vs Atleti but that's not a concert.

Here's to more ice time for the 4th line and Spence/Clarke tonight.

Yeah, I really like the Rose Bowl...and it's just down the hill! I wanted to see the U2 show, but I had to work. I heard it was awesome.

Here's my gameplan for tomorrow:

Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid. Hit McDavid.

Then do it again.

That is all.
Exactly what I saw happening for two periods on Monday night and the Kings looked like a team ready to make long run this year. Then....the Draisaitl goal at the end of the 2nd. For the third period they completely abandoned this approach and looked snakebit. (see: last 3 playoff seasons)
