GDT ***Playoffs Round 1 Game 6 GDT LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers >>7:00pm<< on FanDuel & ESPN***

Everyone is talking about losing 4 straight series to these guys. Unfortunately, I go back farther. It is actually SEVEN straight playoff series we've lost to EDM.

jom
Memories, remember leaving The Forum after the game, Kings beat the Oilers in a regular season game, a young kid (6'ish) sitting on his dad's shoulders screaming " Oilers Suck!" - lol, good times......

I'll try to focus on the positives for this year, thank you Nick, you have been an absolute class act for many, many years you will be missed and as JC says you won't go anywhere, we want to keep hearing from you as long as JC can get you on the show, best wishes and well deserved retirement. Best wishes and prayers for JC, need you to fight your cancer, get well and be ready for next season, Kings Talk and ATKM is not the same without you, you are loved! DK you impressed me, I had no confidence in you in the start of the season and I'm glad you proved me wrong, you are a star and Kings need to keep you to build up next year and going forward. Finally, thank you Kings for winning the games I took my son to for his first two hockey games this year. Rooting for Vegas and Tanner to beat the Oilers in the next round. This was a an absolute painful way to end the season... GO KINGS GO!

Kings almost certainly would have been eliminated in the second round. They only won games 1 and 2 because Edmonton was weakened from recent injuries.
Agree...But it sure would have been a refreshing change of pace to be eliminated in the second round.

Look, Hiller deserves all the blame he's getting. He almost certainly singlehandedly cost this team the series. And let's stipulate that Blake deserves credit for getting Kuemper to paper over the Dubois debacle, and for getting Kuzmenkov to kickstart the power play.

But let's imagine a team that didn't need Kuz because they already had a highly skilled right shot on the PP (Vilardi). Think they could have gotten Kuemper from Washington for something less than Kupari, Iafallo, and a 2nd? Pretty sure they could have. Blake somewhat dug himself out of a hole he created, but his fingerprints are all over this loss.

Nothing is going to happen to the front office because Phil doesn't care. There's a fine line between an owner that's too active and one that's not active enough, but right now, no one with authority is invested in putting together a winning team, because no one is accountable. It sucks, but that's where we are.

Someone should ask him how it feels now to have won that tournament they had in lew of the allstar game.

I'm sure he would rather have beaten the Oilers in this series...
He couldn't put his priorities where it belonged.
Pietrangelo did. Others did.
Can't blame him for wanting a last kick at the Canada can
but it was just selfish. That's part of the placating I'm talking
about.
It's well past time someone in this organization put their foot down and changed the culture. Brotherhood is great and all but winning must be Paramount. And it just isn't.

If Blake is smart, he’ll start moving some of these guys for high 1st round picks for the next few seasons.
There is no one on this team other than Byfield and Clarke who can be moved for a first rounder, let alone a high first rounder, and those are the only two guys that should be untouchable. The good news is if they get someone smart behind the wheel, who thinks like Lombardi, you build from the net out, and goalie is the only position where they have a strong prospect pool

There is a lot of emotion here. I get it. I hate this team too.

That being said, this team is good. Every team has players who have passed their sell by date, (Kopi, Drew). I am more concerned about getting rid of Drew than Kopi.

Fiala showed us in the second half this season he is capable of playing both ends.
Q and Kempe had an amazing second half
Clarke, we see what he is capable of.
Helenius is going to be a 40 goal scorer in this league (I just wanted to see if you were paying attention)

We do not need to rebuild. We lost this series because of coaching. They need that person not only behind the bench with experience, but upstairs to change this mindset. Change some parts on and off the ice, and lets go.
