At this point, it's all about pride. Sure, we can still win and bring it back to LA for Game 7, but right now play with some pride and we can hold our heads up high, even if we lose. This may very well be the final game of our season...please play like it.
 
Pickard played last season in playoffs vs Vancouver 2 loses,1 win . When he played in Colorado or Arizona he was terrible like Skinner maybe even worse. His 3 wins vs Kings is mathematicaly abnormal lol .
P.S.He played in regular game at Crypto in April and lost 3-0.
By law of average he supposed to suck in at least one game

There will be plenty of time over the next few months for the postmortems.
For now I can say that Game 5 was very similar to Game 3 last year when the Kings had a no-show.

For me, the only question about tonight is whether the Kings will roll over or if they will put up a fight.
I can’t believe they aren’t embarrassed by their showing two nights ago. If this team has any competitive spirit I hope it will come out tonight.
It’s entirely up to them. I hope to see them make Edmonton earn it.
 
I expect Hiller to do the same ol' stupid coaching strategy that's been causing self-inflicted damage to the Kings' confidence and momentum since Game 1 though it became a lot more pronounced since Game 3. My doubts of the Kings winning this game are at an all-time high in this series now after last game. All I can say is don't go out with a whimper, LA.

If Deadmonton eliminates LA in this series, they certainly won't have an easier time with any of the other WC opponents they'll face in the next two rounds. Even if Ekholm is going to return from injury in the next round, their depth at D and goaltending has fallen off compared to last season and they will be exposed. McOverrated and Drysaddle aren't that superhuman and they can only carry the Coilers for so long in this year's playoffs.

Gotta say that even when it was pretty clear that we weren't gonna win on Tuesday, the fans kept trying to pump up the team, so I hope they have that in their heads. There were a few boos at the end of the game, but it was deserved, and I hope they keep that in their heads as well!

Also....hopefully Kopi gives the same locker room speech that was given before Game 4 vs. the Sharks in 2014.

Oh, and if we're losing by 5 after the 1st period - PLAY THE 4th LINE!! ALL 2nd PERIOD!!! Mallot was out there slamming bodies for the 15 seconds of ice time he got each period. No idea why Hiller doesn't let him loose to pound the Oiler scum!!

My hope for this game is largely based on the fact that teams very seldom lose 4 games in a row in the playoffs these days. Not even the Hapless Habs lost four in a row.

Odd thing to hang my hope on, but that's how my brain works, haha. :noidea:

Predictions for the coming offseason (starting tonight):
-Kings lose
-Hiller is still behind the bench in October
-Blake is still in the front office for the draft
-Negotiations will begin with an eastern team for moving Kempe so we don’t lose him for nothing
-Kuz does not extend in LA
-Gavi does not extend in LA
-Moore is traded for ‘assets’

That reminds me, I haven't seen Slap Shot this season. I usually watch it the day before the season begins, or the day after it ends. Got home early today...time to pop in what many critics call the best sports movie ever made. It did well at the box office and with the critics in 1977, but what amazes people is the fact it still resonates with sports fans, especially hockey fans, almost 50 years later.

Doing some quick math, I've seen this movie at least 50 times. And I still laugh out loud.
