PLD for Kuemper

Still gotta fill the 4th line with no Lizzo, maybe no Lewis or Grundstrom. I think there will be 2 FA wingers signed. Turc or Thomas will slot in on one of the top 3 lines.

Feels like Grundstrom comes back and will be the 13th forward.

I like the idea of Turcotte, Thomas and one of Lee/Helenius making the opening night roster out of camp.

2 UFA forwards makes sense. They need a right shot skill winger to replace Arvidsson. I like David Perron for that role. If you can get him for $3M on a 1 year deal I’m in. I’d like to see Blake grab a Center with size and lots of character. Bring some more accountability to the locker room.

Lee might be that center. I know nothing about his character, but he sure has size and the organization obviously likes him. He probably has a better than a 50/50 shot to make the team next season. Maybe he can bring Helenius with him.

Here’s hoping Blake is not enthralled with shiny bright objects, given some new found cap room. Benefit of the doubt, Kovalchuk might have come from commands up above. Needless to say, if one is watching and appreciating the SCF (yes, I despise the oilers but love the hard nose competition from both sides), PLD will likely never be able to play at, or commit to that high level of play. Good decision to move on, given the blunder.

Apparently Vegas told Mantha they will not be issuing him an offer - he's be a good addition to that 4th line.

Also I agree on Perron, he would be a solid addition.

I think everyone involved on the Kings side including the fanbase is just relieved they never have to spend another minute talking or commenting on Dubois. A collective turning of the page was badly needed.

That being said I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if PLD gets back to being a 30 goal scorer as early as next season.

I’d be happy for him if he did. Love the player off the ice so don’t wish him any ill will. I just really love him off the team that much more.

A few thoughts that I will add to this.

#1) In a preseason interview PLD was asked "what was it about LA", or what do you like about LA. His answer, the weather, the beach life. Nothing about the team, the org. That was a bit of a red flag answer to me.

#2) Mid season there was an article that stated that Hellebuyck and Schiefele said they decided to sign with the Jets becuase of player was no longer on the team.

#3) Based on #2, I would not be surprised if some of the Kings veteran players offered up their opinion on the PLD situation.

#4) The 3 morons in the front office are to blame for this. The PLD we saw on the Kings was the same PLD that many fans from other teams told us we were getting.

PLD is a worse aquisition than Roenick and Kovalchoke combined. Yea, I said it. Disastrous contract for a red flag bum.

I predict 1-2 years trial in Caps organization, followed by buy-out, then overseas, perhaps KHL into the sunset. Squandered natural talents, due to what's between his ears.

PLD is gone, but the assets used to acquire are never coming back.
In the end, Alex Iafallo, Gabriel Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari and a 2024 second-round pick for Darcy Kuemper. All that for Kuemper.

I think that this is for sure the case. Even the guys on TSN are saying they feel Bergevin was the guy pushing the idea.

this thread has made me realize that, other than Thomas and Turcotte, our pipeline is now getting a little thin, and we don't have a lot of high draft picks.....time for Blakey to find some later round gems? Or back to the college signings - we've done well with those.

The Reign will be stocked with lifetime AHLers next season. Need to get some Dman draft/college guys unless there is someone good I'm forgetting about/not aware of? (waahhhhh!....Faber.....you fell into the Kings Black Hole of Too Many Good Draft Picks)
