yeah, a friend of mine who went to the Blues game said she only made it home safely because there was no one else on the road and she didn't have to stop for very many red lights. She slid into the driveway of her apartment and was quite happy to not need to go anywhere the next day

Not much to wonder about at all.
Winnipeg peeps and the entire city and province are used to that kind of weather.
They are significantly prepared for it. Winnipeg annual snowfall is 46-48 inches.
Columbus on the other hand is 20-22 inches on the annual snowfall measuring stick.
Less than half of Winnipeg.
In this storm alone Columbus got around 16 inches. More than half the annual snowfall for the year in one storm alone!!

To be honest, I was a little concerned with the Kings trying to race out of St. Louis and fly into Columbus after the game the other night. Perhaps I’ve watched La Bamba a few too many times.

We were in the middle of the winter storm and there were =several= flecks of ice on the back porch so now we're in the emergency bunker waiting it out.
(Not to make light of people actually impacted but more fun of people spazzing out here every time there's weather that isn't humid+sun and buying up all the bread, milk, gas, and toilet paper. We thankfully and accidentally picked a very anti-storm part of the state to live in).
