If there was a theme for Saturday afternoon’s preseason finale with the Ducks, maybe coach Jim Hiller can use, ‘It’s not how you start, but how you finish.’ The Kings looked good early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead, mixing in some power play goals, and just generally dominating the game. Then, the Ducks came back to tie things up with four unanswered goals in the final frame of regulation.
What could have ended in terrible fashion was able to get back on track during overtime, though. Forward Kevin Fiala buried the game winner to send everybody home happy.
