Saturday night marks the end of a five-game road trip for the Kings, as they look to make it a 3-2-0 trip against the Seattle Kraken.

Offensively, Los Angeles finally broke through against Vancouver two nights ago with a big 5-1 victory. Alex Turcotte led the way with a career-high three-point night including two goals. Adding in a power play tally by Kevin Fiala and all of the sudden, things are looking up when it comes to depth scoring.

Coach Jim Hiller will need to get the same effort out of his special teams units tonight, especially on the penalty kill. In what’s been a strength of the team all season, the PK group put on a clinic against the Canucks, going a perfect 5-5 when down a man. Arguably the best penalty killer continues to be Darcy Kuemper, who is putting up ridiculous numbers over the past six weeks — something Kings fans haven’t seen since Jonathan Quick was wearing the black and white.

All game notes aside, and something to keep an eye on in the weeks ahead, this might be the last road game the Kings have without Drew Doughty in the lineup. If that’s the case, then the entire defensive core deserves some appreciation for the outstanding first half they’ve put together without the future Hall of Famer.

Statistically Speaking

— Kevin Fiala leads all Kings players in franchise history with ten points against Seattle.

— Phillip Danault has six points in five career road games against the Kraken.

— The Kings have earned points in each of their last five games played in Seattle (4-0-1).

— LA has never lost in regulation in Seattle (4-0-1)
