Some quick reaction from Kings GM Ken Holland during his media availability following the Phill Danault trade to Montreal:

I'm monitoring the situation to see if we need to make more moves or if we can do this internally… until the Trade Deadline. (key point there)

Sometimes you want to do a trade and what you're looking for is not available. We'll see what shakes loose.

Holland says he wanted to find a good place for Danault and get a good return for the Kings. Feels this deal accomplished both.

Holland also confirms Danault was really sick. As was reported in LA previously. If there wasn't a deal tonight, he'd be at practice with LA tomorrow.

#GoKingsGo GM Ken Holland — Turcotte does all the things a 3C needs to do. He'll get the opportunity. He's been good defensively. Was a point producer his draft year. Hope this opportunity allows him to blossom.

More comments:

— “We had three breakaways from center ice in Florida. So, we’re getting chances. Hopefully, once the damn breaks here a little bit, there’ll be a few more goals to follow. In the meantime, the defensive side, the compete, the goaltending, the structure is keeping us in the race.”

— “[Turcotte] is very competitive. Very determined, goes to hard areas, back checks. I think he does all the things that a third line center can do defensively. He hasn’t really probably had a great opportunity in a lot of this time here in in LA on the offensive side of the puck. We’re going to give him an opportunity here to play some minutes. I don’t know, what does a 3C get, like 30 to 40 points? I think Phil had 43 last year. I’m not sure he could get that right off the bat, but he’s certainly, defensively, he’s been very good. We’re going to give him an opportunity here to play some minutes. He was a point producer, obviously, in his draft year. Went to college; had almost a point-per-game as a freshman. So, hopefully this opportunity allows him to kind of find his offensive side. Certainly defensively, he’s been very good.”
