He's had 8 years. We went through a rebuild and have plateaued. He pushed too hard, too fast and gutted the farm. We've still not made it out of the first round under Blake.
In a normal organization, the GM picks his coach. Are the Kings normal? I feel like our entire org is made up of former Kings and surfing buddies. It's the hockey equivalent of academic inbreeding.

Finally, Blake is gone. He knew he had to be the fall guy after seeing his team lose to the Coilers in the first round for four consecutive years. Third time should have been the breaking point last year, but it seems fourth time is now the charm. Good riddance and don't ever come back.

It’s kind of perfectly poetic that he gets the axe after he builds his best roster and his choice for head coach flushes a playoff series win down the toilet.

Hiller should absolutely be the next to go.

I’m completely prepared to have an underwhelming hire for the next GM. Luc is going to make the safest pick possible.

Kings are more than a few tweaks away from competing with Dallas, Avs, Knights, Oilers, etc.
It'll be really interesting to see what the new GM does.
Gavvy, Rittich, Jeannot, Kuz, Lewis ... notable UFAs
Kopi, Kempe, Spence, Clarke, Movarare and several others coming off their entry level contract - 1 more year before needing a re-up.

The New GM has a lot of work to do. Including deciding on the coaching staff.
