Followers of this website know all about the 22-year-old forward from Pennsylvania.
After leaving UMass last spring and turning pro, he’s arguably been the best rookie for AHL Ontario this season and earned the trust of coach Andrew Lord from nearly Day 1 of training camp.
On Monday, Connors was recalled from the Reign and was on his way to join the Kings in Detroit. Early indications are he is likely to make his NHL debut on Tuesday. Anything can change between now and then, so that’s a conversation for later in the afternoon tomorrow.
For his part, Connors has seen his stock continually rise within the organization since his name was first called at the 2022 NHL Draft. He spent the next few years rounding out his game with the Minutemen, including earning Hockey East All-Rookie Team honors in 2023 and then competing in the NCAA 16-team tournament each of the past two seasons. Connors also played for Team USA at the 2023 World Junior Championship, earning a bronze medal.
This season, he’s turned into one of the most consistent Reign forwards. In 41 games for Ontario thus far in 2025-26, Connors has recorded nine goals and 24 points with a plus-13 rating.
During his initial callup this week, he’ll wear No. 34. His preferred number is 17 — which has sat vacant in LA the past few seasons.
