I mean, they had 105 points last season, so he was doing something right. But somehow a switch got flipped in his head when the playoffs started and it never got switched back. His playoff decisions were indefensible and inexcusable, but the regular season was good enough that you had to hope he'd just learned his lesson in games 3-6.

I gotta give credit to the Kings. I didn't think this team had it in them. ALL season, I've been waiting for this level of play. Just willing themselves to get a shot at the win.

Yup! Any coach who has 2 popular and important players want off the team in the same season is doing something very wrong. Both Danault and Foegele seem very happy to be where they are now.

Up til the playoffs I wanted him to be a Jack Adams finalist. Last year the Kings truly could have beaten the Oil and gone on a run. The fallout from that failure has been immense, and the player exodus embarrassing, sad, and detrimental.

Again, that this team is in the playoffs at all this is unreal.

I can't blame Danault and Foegele for wanting out of this team earlier this season thanks to Hiller. Thank goodness he's gone now but that "coward" spat should have been the last straw.

What a game. Nice to finally see the Kings checking every chance they can! Me and my friend were talking about it. I believe they didn’t play this way against the Oilers, every time they did. They ended up in the box. And with that pp, it burned us every game. These refs are letting them play. I never thought I would ever hear Kempe getting booed! Lol

Win or lose, I love the way the Kiings are playing ...not just tonight...in Game 1 they were playing hard too. But tonight they took it to another level..

It breaks my heart wondering how much better we would have been had we dumped Hiller mid-season last year.

For everyone here that said that coaching was the issue, you were 100% correct.

Hiller indeed had his heart in the right place last season but the playoffs must have permanently changed his mentality. Then this season, he decided to go T.Murray-lite and screwed up this team's culture that ultimately led to Danault and Foegele heading off to greener pastures. And Perry, as well, but screw him.
