Too small
Are Yanni Gourde and Travis Konecny too small for you? In my estimation, they play bigger than 80% of the pussies on our roster.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be thrilled if our average size was 6’3” and 215lbs, but look at guys like QB and Clarke. No bite at all, no push back, no ferocity. If those guys end up being future ‘spark’ of this roster, we are in for some dark, dreary days.

To follow my last thought, I would’ve been totally happy if they traded Spence to get Kurtis MacDermid back on the roster.. even if it was just to ice him for one game against Edmonton, and watch him punch Darnell Nurse into an early retirement.

Again, a player that plays bigger or physical is my preference.

We still need size on the bottom 2 lines. I want the Dwight King/jordan Nolan effect.
Hopefully Lee and Helenius become the new King/Nolan combo. I’d like to see a lot more of Mallott in the regular season, turned loose a bit. I have a strong suspicion that Hiller really put the handcuffs on Mallott during the playoffs, in terms of his aggression levels. No question he was scared to death to take a penalty, and that really hamstrings a player like that.

What should have been his first NHL goal was epic.

Absolutely, and that right there shows me that the guy probably has a far greater scoring touch than a schlub like Trevor Lewis. I’d even let Mallott play 3rd line minutes with Danault and Moore for a few regular season games, just to see if we can spark his scoring confidence. Getting 10 goals, 15 assists, and 100 -meaningful- PIMs from him would be a wet dream for me.

I'm afraid that because of Hiller, the 4th line is now the problem (not the lack of trust in it) and it will likely be ravamped completely and we will never know how good that line could have been with another season under it belt...
