Byfield's inability to finish is becoming a glaring issue amongst other things with him.Because the goalie (Askarov) got a piece of it with his blocker. Yes, Byfield should have finished, but sometimes credit is due to the goalie as well.
Last night was then first time I was excited to watch a Kings game in a good while, and given the absolutely depleted roster the result is okay. And it’s more than okay they scored 3 goals given the absolute drought they’ve had. Reasonably excited to watch WPG too - they have their own scoring issues. There's definitely good reasons for optimism, and more than anything it was actually fun to watch the last two games. We played hard and aggressive, kept our foot on the gas and controlled play for the most part. Heck, even QB looked much better.
Once again, I don't want to get too excited, but I'll take any positivity then I can get right now. I was actually forced to watch the freakin Ducks for a while. By the way what the hell happened down there in Anaheim? The Quackers are having a rough go of it lately. They took the Express Elevator from the penthouse to the basement. Ouch.
We are giving an awful lot of credit to goaltenders when they play the Kings.Because the goalie (Askarov) got a piece of it with his blocker. Yes, Byfield should have finished, but sometimes credit is due to the goalie as well.
Every one of them looks like a Vezina finalist vs the Kings...except for DostalWe are giving an awful lot of credit to goaltenders when they play the Kings.
There’s a few problems, imo. Not just one.Not even gonna bother with any sort of example based analysis. I think the majority of you have finally realized what the problem is by now, and I don’t need to keep repeating myself.
The disallowed goal bothers me. The fact that the Kings have very limited high end talent from 3 years of absolute suckage and draft lottery picks bothers me. The f***ing bullshit drop passes bother me.This loss doesn’t bother me. I’ll take this kind of loss any day over the vast majority of the 1-0, 2-1 wins snooze fests.

The picks I was referring to was Turcotte, Byfield, and Clarke, when we were actually draft lottery status for a few really putrid seasons. The disallowed goal didn't really bother me. If the teams were reversed we'd definitely want that goal called back. "Distinct punching motion"
The problem is the Kings haven't sucked enough the past 3 years to get higher picks, so that was expected and doesn't bother me.
OK, I hate the drop passes. That garbage needs to end.
When they posted that bullshit "locking it down" 11-0-0 stat for the kings with a lead going into the 3rd this season...Double yep. This blowing leads in the 3rd is getting really old.

Not to mention the Kings have been able to find some gems in the 2nd round (Faber being chief among them). Their biggest hurdle was in trading so many 1st round picks away. When all is said and done they might pan out quite well. Getting 3 top 6/top 4 players out of 3 top 8 picks isn't bad at all.
Let's be real - players like Celebrini are a pipe dream unless you pick 1st overall.
Remember the times of Hickey, Teubert, Tukonen...?
And if you compare to the Ducks, before they hit home runs with Carlsson and likely Sennecke, their draft record in the top 10 was McTavish, Drysdale, Zegras and Mintyukov...not bad, but none of these 4 will likely be anything close to a franchise cornerstone (well, maybe Zegras). They did do very well to acquire Gauthier with the help of Drysdale...but that's a topic separate from drafting success.
Have to admit, they are exciting.Sharks just did it again vs the Stars. Down 4-2 early in the 3rd. Toffoli wins it in OT. Bastards.
I'm glad Toffoli will get back in the playoffs. They could shock a team as they will play loose and really nothing to lose.Toffoli 2gls(including the GWPPG in OT,Celebrini had 3 asst.
The comparison of Celebrini to teenage Crosby is pretty much right on. This kid is very, very special!I'm glad Toffoli will get back in the playoffs. They could shock a team as they will play loose and really nothing to lose.
