***San Jose Sharks vs. Los Angeles Kings GDT 1/22/24 7:30pm on BSW***

I really hope Blake holds onto Clarke. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t turn into a special player at the NHL level.

Clarke is one offensive-minded D-Man the Kings have really needed since Durzi left. Though he hasn't reached his real level yet as he's still young, he will eventually turn into a tour de force for the Kings the next few seasons.

I heard earlier in a post in a thread about Clarke that Clarke has a Paul Coffey style to his game, but right now, I'm not seeing it. To me, he's playing in the level of a poor man's Scott Niedermayer at this point in his career. But that's my take on him.

oops, you're correct. Hockey-reference steered me wrong. We're really short on good righties until Arvy returns.

A good hockey team scores goals more often and wins games when it has a good balance of right and left-handed players (goalies not included since their job is to protect the net). A team that has too many players that are adept at one hand usually disrupts that balance and the team's probability of winning games dips around 40/60 to 30/70, AFAIK.
