It's about time!

New documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival recounts the inventions of Hedy "The Mother of Wi-Fi" Lamarr, produced by Susan Sarandon. (and a TV miniseries on the way)

Both are based on the book by Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Rhodes.

A worthy read for anyone with an interest.

It's HEDLEY!

Teleportation: Photon particles today, humans tomorrow?

Chinese scientists say they have "teleported" a photon particle from the ground to a satellite orbiting 1,400km (870 miles) away.

Grab some Advil...or maybe some vodka...before you head down this wormhole. Very cool stuff here if it is indeed legit.

No, not Star Trek teleportation...but what could be almost totally uninterceptable communication. Using quantum entanglement to transmit data long distances is a big step. Once honed (although I suspect this is further along than we know), this could be extremely useful and powerful.

Didn't Kurt Vognnegut write something about this in Breakfast of Champions? He said something to the effect of all teleportation does is make everything more crowded because anyone can go anywhere instantly. Read: cool story, bruh. ;)

I'm thinking more of instantaneous communication. Sounds like the Ansible from Enders game could be a reality. That would be a game changer for sure. Imagine getting probe data instantly and being able to send commands to robotics without the speed of light lag time to mars saturn or jupiter.
