***Seattle Kraken vs. LA Kings GDT 4/7/25 7:30pm on FanDuel***

And Anaheim wins. Never thought I really had to cheer for them to get Deadmonton to lose in regulation, but here it is. At least they did us Kings fans a big favor tonight.

First round will be painful, couple of players out can't impact the team this much and the Kings PP is just abysmal

Just when I'm starting to believe this team could go deep a game like this happens. Hey if it's a seven game series a loss is a loss and move on. That's what I hope they do. I expect a better game on Thursday, which will not be easy. The playoffs are around the corner and there can not be anymore games like this.

Both the Oilers and Kings missed an opportunity tonight. Whoever does not get home ice will rue losing their game tonight.
Kings magic number for home ice is now 6 with the Oil loss. A win tonight putting it at 4 would have all but sealed it. 2 King wins and Oil going 4-1 still seems probable enough. I don’t expect the Kings to win their last regular season game against EDM on the road.

We play down to other teams for some reason.. it's better this season cause our record vs playoff teams is stellar which I think last year it wasn't.

Yeah, well, it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it

That guy looks about what I thought he'd look like.

I drove all the way there for that mess. Still better than the Nashville 0-0 game, though. And traffic was very cooperative tonight, so I'm not too annoyed.
You are a true diehard. If I had driven all the way down there for that pitiful performance, I'd be grumpy as this guy:

I hope Kempe had good news last night. I saw some post saying they're expecting a baby "in September" - but it referenced an ultrasound picture posted in October that looked like she was 2-3 months along already, which puts her ready for a lil Kempe about.. now, not September.

LOL!

Yeah, Chuck was a bit of a mess. Not surprisingly he died of a heroin overdose. His replacement was vastly superior. But he was better than their first singer (Courtney Love!):

Of the Kings last six games (including last night), I figured they would probably lose to the Avalanche and Oilers, still giving them home ice. Assuming they get no other help from other teams (though the Ducks certainly did help last night), now they'll probably have to win one of those games, assuming the Oilers win out. I don't think the Oilers will win out, simply because of everyone they have missing, but still, last night was a lost opportunity.

First things first we hope all is well in the Kempe house. No reputable information has been posted and for now we do the thoughts and prayers that it all comes out good. Lots of posters hit both sides of the poll question but only one got the full 4 points, congratulations to @sonnyboy11 for getting both 26 and 28 saves. The game itself will only be memorable for Q's highlight goal, and the most momentum killing 5 on 3 I've ever seen. They said during the broadcast it was only the 4th 5 on 3 for the kings this year and based on that one, thank goodness they don't get that many. I'm not sure what the specialty teams envision is supposed to happen, but this idea that the opponent is going to cooperate with your whims while you literally stand there and hope they move out of the way seems to reek a bit of hubris. When coaches use motto's like "choose hard" and so forth, they don't mean to make the odds worse on yourself, they mean to gain an advantage through work. Hope that clears it up for everyone if there was confusion. The idea that PP time can be easy minutes is a falsehood, if a player wants easy minutes there are plenty of them to be found on the bench.

Oh I totally agree it was a missed opportunity. Having to win 1 out of 5 and Oilers losing 1 out of 5 would be much more comfortable. Or having to only win 2 more if Oilers win out is also more doable as I expect them lose both those games you mentioned also.

Puts more pressure on Thursday and Ducks are a tough out. Hopefully Kempe is back and ready to load up more goals against them.

With the Byfield goal & the Kuemper save, the Kings had the 2 highlights of the game. But those mean nothing when we lose. You can't lose a game to a lottery team like this. It doesn't matter who's out of the lineup. And you can't get a 5 on 3 and do absolutely nothing with it. Thank God the Ducks helped us out tonight.
