The anticipation continues to build surrounding — not just the LA Kings new uniforms, but also what’s coming for all 32 NHL teams. With the Adidas deal now reaching its natural end, Fanatics will launch as the league’s new uniform supplier in the days ahead.

From our most recent article talking about the Kings brand evolution and timing of the new NHL jerseys:

As for the new jerseys, expect to see them make their debut next week. From what we understand, the NHL and Fanatics are scheduling a big release for all of the league’s new jerseys. According to a few different league sources, the Kings and Ducks will probably have their own special launches, separate from the other 32 clubs, given that they’re both going through brand evolutions. Even so, it will most likely all happen at or around the same time. Based on what we’re hearing, the jersey launch will most likely come a day or two before the NHL Draft.

So, this pretty much pegs the launch for seemingly Wednesday or Thursday. Sure, the league could move that up to Tuesday — but we’ll assume they’d want to let the new Stanley Cup Champion at least have one day to hog all the headlines, coming off what will be a Game 7 victory on Monday night.

Fresh on the heels of LA rolling out their new logo and brand markings on Thursday, we’ve continued to work for more nuggets that build upon the original information we presented in our December article that broke news of this big change for the organization.

Here’s some additional information we’ve been able to cobble together:

The 2024-25 Helmets

LA will be switching to a new matte black helmet for all home games. This will be a departure from the current black helmets which have more of a gloss finish to them. It will also mark the first truly matte finish in their 50+ year history.

On the road, the Kings will still wear their existing white helmets. And, as of now, the chrome helmets have been ‘put away’ – we’ve heard they aren’t fully retired. Indications are the Kings may have a third ‘specialty’ helmet for a limited number of games. However, that probably wouldn’t happen until the 2025-26 season — when the team is also expected to debut a new third jersey.

The 2024-25 Pants

Super sleuths first noticed the Kings removed the logo from their pants a few years ago. Throughout their history, though — and like most teams — they typically have featured a primary or secondary logo on the lower right area of their pants, just above the hem. For the past few seasons, they’ve gone without one there; just opting for vertical stripes.

Comparing images from the NHL Uniforms database below, you can see the slight change on the pants.

For the new 2024-25 uniform kit, we’re expecting the Kings to go with the newly modified crown on their pants. While this hasn’t been officially confirmed by the team just yet, look for it when they reveal the full kit later this week.

The 2024-25 Jersey

For starters, if the lead image in this article is any indication, that’s probably what the crest will look like (note, the image comes from the Kings video released here).

While the official reveal is being kept under very tight lock and key, one interesting tidbit did develop over the past few days. Unlike the current kit, next year’s uniform will feature home and road jerseys that are mirror images of each other. If you look closely at those images from the NHL Uniform database below, notice that the lower areas of the black home and road white jerseys are actually different. So, it seems as part of the brand evolution, they’ll be going back to the 90s look, where the home and road jerseys feature the exact same striping and trims.

And another little tidbit about the jerseys themselves… From what we’re hearing, the actual game jerseys won’t be available until later this summer. Why does that matter? Well, with Development Camp coming up in two weeks, the team’s training staff will have to scramble a bit. Usually, the prospects wear the Kings practice jerseys for the skills sessions, and then wear actual game jerseys for the scrimmages. Not this year. They’ll have to figure something else out.

If you missed our article back in March, the practice jerseys have also been redesigned under Fanatics. We had more on that story here.

2024-25 Sponsorship Info

From our previous reports, all sponsorship deals remain in place for the 2024-25 season. Road helmets will feature AMEX, while the home helmets include Blue Shield of California. Both of those deals were multi-year agreements.

On the jersey itself, only the home sponsorship has been sold. Mercury Insurance will again return on the black home jerseys. At this time, no sponsor has been named for the white road jerseys. Yet, there is still plenty of time to potentially put a deal together before opening night.

Signage in and around Toyota Sports Performance Center, the team’s training facility in El Segundo, has already begun to change. Indications are the majority of signage will be done in time for Development Camp. More info on that event can be found here.
