Start Copley for Game 6

K-Man #32

Let's start Copley in game 6 and see if that sparks us to a victory. He saved our regular season hopefully he can save our playoff lives.

On a side note do you think we re sign Korpi and Vlad or let them walk?

I thought you were die hard Korpi guy, maybe that was someone else.

I don't think Todd starts Copley. I'd like to see it. It's a gamble either way, and probably doesn't matter either way if Kings D lets them out to dry like that. I've been saying man on man D will not work against this Oil team. Todd needs some serious coaching adjustments, Kings need to buy in, real fast. Or just play their game for a full 60. But nothing in between.

Doom n gloom:

"
And from 2005 to 2020 drafts there were 38 forwards taken with Top 3 picks. Of those 38, QB has the 2nd fewest total points, the 2nd worst points-per-game and the worst goals-per-game. He has literally been either the worst or 2nd worst producing Top 3 pick in the last 15 years (him or Turris), and maybe longer. I didn't look beyond that.
"

Byfield experiment needs to end this summer. I said all season he'll cost us playoff games. He helped cost us this one - losing D coverage on almost 3 goals, messing up the lines by having to be moved, etc., despite the goal. Glaring issues. I hope they can pull it together.

Goaltending isn't our problem. Korpi's letting in softies. Copley will probably get rattled. He shoulda started game 5. Too much pressure I think for his first playoff start.

I am a die hard Quick fan, was pumped for Korpi but was more appreciative to Copley. Sadly, if we had Stutzle we would have won this series

Think you re-sign Gavi if you can at a reasonable price... but it will cost. Korpi I don't see the point. He's a good goalie, but what have we seen in him that Copley doesn't already give us? Now if he is put back in and steals game 6 and 7 - whole other ball game. Personally, hope Copley starts. He deserves a shot. He's earned it. Could've easily started the playoffs, but get why they went the way they did. Things aren't going well anymore, so try the other option... bet they won't though. Fully expect Korpi in there.

After the shelling Korpisalo experienced in the first 4 games, Copley should have started game 5. McLellan’s decision-making is a far worse problem than the goalies or the defensemen. Rob needs to man up and replace his buddy.

If the Kings can't find a way to stop that #1 power play (in History), it doesn't matter who's in net. Haven't seen the amount of blocked shots the Kings had during the regular season on the penalty kill this series. Hopefully they can get those bodies and sticks in the shooting lanes more. I personally don't think Copley would fare any better than Korpi against this Oilers offense.

Doesn't sound like Vlad will be staying. I read an article (wish I had the link) that the Kings already made an offer to Vlad after the trade and he said he wanted to test the market after the season. Doesn't mean he won't stay but highly doubtful. Which will suck because he is a great addition.

Maybe it is just me but I am not sold on Korpi and if he is gone then me personally, I won't be sad.

Agreed. I know he is young but for a #2 overall forward I thought he would have shown a lot more this year. I just hope he actually pans out to what we all hope.

It's worse than that. If Byfield had gotten lost in Antarctica two weeks ago (i.e., replaced by nobody), we probably would have won this series.

I read the same thing, what the hell this guy wants to cheat on us or something? Korpi seems exposed... Copley seems to be the emotional lift we need. It's only right that he gets the start in game 6 for saving our season hopefully it continues with saving our playoff lives, sad how he just lost the net man

Copley plays better at home, so I wouldn't be bothered by the change, but our primary issue is not goaltending.

Find a team that ever had a penalty kill under 50% and won a playoff series. I doubt it has ever happened.

Our 4th line is poor, our third pairing is terrible and we lack size and physicality.

The positive I take out of our situation is that making moves for 4th liners and third paring D are the easiest to do and we have Clarke or Spence to take over on the right side, so it's just a LD with some grit that we need to add to the third pairing. Bjornfot can be the 7th for now.

Have to find a way to re-sign Gavrikov, which way prove to be difficult.

I doubt we re-sign Gavrikov. He is going to want big bucks. He's impressed me a ton with his play. He's a real deal top 4 guy. So a team with more cap room will probably overpay for him. Korpi, I could take him or leave him. He's been very good for the most part and has good size but I don't see him being a huge step up over Copley.

I'd be OK with either goalie in game 6. It is hard to put up good numbers when the PK under 50% and the defense overall is just getting exposed. ESPN was really pointing out the flaws in the Kings game plan last night. I hope Rob was listening.

You wanna be GM’s all wanted to trade with the ‘Yotes for an oft-injured defenseman for 2 years. Blake pulled the trigger with Columbus - and it worked.

Copley literally dropped a puck which allowed a goal. It’s do or die.

Go with experience, play better defense & stay outta the fargin’ box

which part worked exactly

because we played like **** down the stretch and are looking at round 1 elimination with the worst PK I think maybe ever. Copley literally saved our season. Korpi literally let in 9 goals in 85 minutes. Buncha softies. It'll be the year we gave up JQ and a 1st for a first round exit. Or, they might win 2 more games. That'd be good. Either way - starting goalie game 6 don't matter. It's the other dudes on the ice.

We need an emotional lift like we got when Vilardi came back and Fiala. Now we need one from The Cop
