Great game last night the most fun. Lost 2-1 but damn does it feel better when the teams are evenly matched. Whole game was back and fourth both goalies played well. Got 3 shots on goal wish I could have buried one. Also got a breakaway but I was playing against top line and their D hustled back enough to tap my stick when I went for the shot. I blame this loss on [MENTION=19179]Peggy_GKG[/MENTION] for taking it off haha. No really loss was on ref for swallowing his whistle 2 times when they had 7 players on ice and one goal was after multiple whacks at our goalies glove and not stopping play. Their reason was he shouldn't have moved and just laid on top of it.

i get maybe too many men on a shift change on the go or something. But when they drop the puck after a icing on our end and they let the play go for a few seconds when they have 7 players on its kinda like

It was tough in the sense that it was really tight game and we couldnt capitalize on the penalties. But was fun especially when they got a penalty last minute and we pulled goalie and had 7 players on the ice.

Game 2 with the new guys was much better. Overall we faced a bit stronger team. They had at least one guy who was definitely at the wrong level and between the 2 of us we made things exciting. Game was tight as was last week with the exception that this week our better players were feeling better about going for it. Which was good because they had a one line team and they were going for it too. The team carried a 3-2 lead into the 3rd but then got caught in deep and inevitably the other guys tied it. Boys were a bit deflated so I decided to really go for it, got the puck rushed down the ice and went around the net to walk out and fire up high on my forehand. Goalie was completely down and out diving to get back to my side and somehow got his glove up and robbed the hell out of me. I got the better of him the next shift though, chaos play happened in front and I was chilling at the blue line. Puck squirted out right towards me and there was one of their team trying to get to it, I started yelling "leave it, leave it" and the dude left the puck! So I crushed it. Goalie had no chance this time.
We ended up winning 4-3 and back in the locker room the vets on the team were really soaking it in. Eventually one of them goes "Finally a ****ing win for this team" and I was stunned. I asked and it was indeed their very first win stretching back to when the team was formed the prior season. So I toasted the win and basked with them.

Game got cancelled last night email sent out around 950 game at 1030... I was already pulling into the parking lot. Something about the pressure going out and the ice turning into slush. At least i got some sleep and heres this.

That sucks man I was wondering how far you made it down last night. Bummer. Hopefully they get it fixed quick and the re-schedule isn't too obnoxious.

Well the original game was scheduled for 10:35 pm on a Monday night. Can it get worse than that?

Yea it sucked to do the drive at least no traffic so i was back home in 30mins. Hope they dont try and add another weekday game. Wouldnt mind playing a double header with a 30 min in between to take a small breather.
whoo hoo! My team won our playoff game tonight, 7-1. So now it's on to the semi-finals next week. Our goalie was great, especially in the 2nd period when we for some reason couldn't get the puck out of our zone and I had to take like 5 faceoffs in a row. I am terrible at faceoffs, but I've gotten better this season and actually win about 1 out of 3 now.
This was against the team who had only 1 fewer point than us, and we finished 4th out of 8 teams, so next round we will be playing "up" for sure. The #1 team is made up of guys who are all huge and tall. Hope we get to play them in the finals next Thursday!
PS...I did not score any of the goals, but I did wear my Trevor Lewis game-worn Legends Night gloves. Maybe I'll finally get a goal next game.
