The All Things MLS, NWSL, USMNT/USWNT et al Thread

It all comes down to converting transfer fee to GAM.
Higher value in MLS versus to Tigres
I guess. Or he really didn't want to go to Mexico. Or he asked them to leave. Or both.

Just sad. Maybe he'll net 15 goals but they'll miss the playoffs.

Kuntz better have a striker option ready stat.

More dirt sheet stuff

The #LAGalaxy are close to acquiring 20-year-old striker, Matheus Nascimento on loan from Botafoga, per
@tiagobrandao_8
.The Brazilian forward has 1 goal and 1 assist in 5 matches this year.#LAGalaxy | #MLS

Until he comes here and becomes a MEGASTAR

^^ G's should take a flyer on him.

Ramirez didn't impress me much in the match vs CLT.
Sure it's preseason and no Paintsil, but he didn't really stick out, and his runs off the ball were almost non-existent.

Again, preseason with new team, and he is not the G's future going forward, he is just a placeholder.
I'm good with that....now go sign that U22 striker!

Down to one "P" of the killer "P's"

Joe mentioned it on the broadcast yesterday that Paintsil had an injury very early on in preseason training.
So no rush to bring him back.

Fagundez gonna get more playtime than imagined....maybe Cuevas too.

ouch

“I think it will be a long fu*king season. February until October, and then the playoffs.”“We are champions, but nobody cares here [looks around as people walk by him].”“Are we gonna defend the title? I hope so. It will be difficult, we lost too many good players. So our general manager has to buy some big players.”“I don’t want to be last this season.“

Also, was reading something that said in MLS playoff bonuses go against the next year's salary cap which also hit the galaxy this year. That's lame.

Yea, Maya said something similar about MLS and the cap in terms of attracting more than DP talent to the league. I get it, but most players don't know about TAM either, nor do they understand Garber bucks either.

It sucks that you have to dismantle your team in MLS. I think its time the league grows up and starts to spend more, and change the rules, but it's not up to Garber its up to the owners. If they wanted to change, they would tell him. Sucks that the league is a year and a half out from World Cup in North America, and they made no major changes so that teams can get that great talent right after the World Cup.

....and I love Marco, but come on now dude, you played for 2nd place your whole career in the Bundesliga, and now you are upset about being a champion and having difficulty trying to win another?!?!?!? lol

LA Galaxy

Welcome home, Christian

💛

We have acquired forward Christian Ramirez from the Columbus Crew in exchange for $250,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $250,000 in conditional 2026 GAM.

G's win vs Minn-United.

Thoughts:

Ramirez looked "better' in his limited minutes

Lepley with the brace....kid can play...I bet he cracks quite a bit more first team minutes this year.

McCarthy poor distribution, bad pass giveaways....did not look that good. (I bet his time here is limited)

Zanka looked solid in the back. Nice to see some height put to use.

Sanabria getting his first start (limited minutes) looked lost....but that is expected with new club and new system. No judgement on him until a few months on.

Aude looked great, back to his old self. Still think he should pack on a bit more weight/muscle.

Elijah Wynder....color me impressed for a USL Championship player he did not look at of place at all.

Early preseason thoughts: Give this team a couple of months to gel with the new midfield and striker, and I think we will be all right.

[Tenorio] BREAKING: USL intends to launch a 12- to 14-team Division One league in 2027-28. USL believes the U.S. is more than capable of accommodating more D1 teams.

So they are going to apply for first division status....yea that's "BOLD", but I dunno where it goes.
You need teams in big markets, a good chunk of them already have MLS clubs.

Maybe the play is to grab some of the remaining "big" markets, say for example (but not for sure...because who knows if they are viable markets): Vegas, Detroit, Phoenix, SF/Sacramento, NO, Cleveland, etc. then eventually (later at some point) fold them into MLS?

I really don't know what the play is? Pro/Rel is not going to happen in the US.
Does USL even have the $$ or investors to support a D1 league?

Currently MLS has pretty "old/outdated" roster rules that handcuffs the league to get worldwide talent.
.......and MLS is 30 years old!!!

How is USL D1 going to have the $$ to attract talent of a D1 level and make money to survive?

I need to hear the good argument for this.
