The Legendary Jonathan Quick

You don't understand my logic? Come on bro, you really think Quick shouldn't be in?

Barrasso was good and played in a different era so it's hard to compare, but from a stat perspective he won the Veniza on a 2.85 GAA and .893 Save %, for his career he averaged 3.24 / .892 which is a far cry from Quick. For context, Quick is 2.46/.911 over his career. That said, different era with a lot more goal scoring so my honest opinion is if Fuhr is in Barrasso also should be.

With Quick, I really believe he would have won a Vezina had he played on the east coast. From an overall stat perspective, I find him to be the best ever US Born Goaltender which gives him a shot at getting in. He also has an Olympic silver medal (Barrasso had nada).

There is 0-10% chance that Quick gets in. Winningest American goalie = nope? Vezina = nope? Add onto those stats that the Hall dislikes admitting goalies in general and Quick doesn't make it. Also, the silver medal is backing up Ryan Miller who actually is the winningest American-born goalie and carried the team in 2010. Quick has never medaled when being the USA starter.

He's not making it unless he catches Beezer and he's a long shot at that. Quick needed to pass Miller and it looks like he is going to run out of time. He'll have to comfort himself with 2 rings and a statue outside of the Crypt.

Kind of like the way I was robbed of two points on that trivia question by some guy named Jammer!

Nyssa updates the gdt standings, it was a b2b, she will update it shortly. In the meantime chillax. If theres a wager out there you need this to update for i could understand, but in the meantime you are by far the most persistent poster regarding the results.

Yeah, I don't disagree - in fact if you read farther back in this thread you are agreeing with my original post. 400 wins likely gets him in, falling short of that gives him a chance but not a great one. Getting voted in, though, and deserving to be in the HoF are two different things.

Maybe I don't understand what you're arguing. Are you arguing that he will get in? Or are you arguing that he should get in? Those are too entirely different arguments.

I have a question - if they wanted Petersen to back up for the playoffs, how would that work? Blake seems unlikely to send Quick down and fine. Would they ever carry three? Don’t think so. Is Quick retiring the only way?

I said he should, but has a low chance of actually getting voted in without a Vezina, and playing on the west coast, unless he get to around 400 wins. He also has a couple potential first ballot HoF goalies standing in his way.

I'm wondering that too. I would rather have Peterson as the backup at this point, but what to do with Quickie... LTIR maybe?

You'd rather have Petersen as the backup in the playoffs who has very little playoff experience in the NHL and is looking like a pretty average goalie in the AHL over Quick who has a ton of playoff experience (and success)? Given Copely also has very little NHL playoff experience (between them they have played in 1 playoff game), that doesn't seem like a good combination. Worst case Quick helps Copely in the locker room and from the bench.

Then I think we are at worst case because Quick can't help Copley between the pipes... between the ears is his only salvation.

Oh, Hay guys. I'm cool with it! Nobody can take this away. :)

La has done this for years with players....last big player was Luc....quick is not done...and if this team could play in front of him we will have a chance..Copley has been good but is slow and only positional...forcing the d to play...quick is not done...and may be forced to play elsewhere to hit 400..
