Reminds me a bit of the Cal Peterson deal, could be boom or bust.
They have all the pieces to become an elite team in the West, fortunately I think Verbeek may be in over his head. But if the talent comes good, we are in for a long 5-6 years.

Vilardi re-signs for 7.5m x 6. That's a steal IF he can stay healthy.
Wow if we could run it all back I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. 7.5 doesn't get you much these days.

I don’t think Vilardi can stay healthy long term. This is a good contract for both sides.

Jackson Blake contract extension is just one more example of a forward thinking, creative GM. But hey we’ve got Luc and Holland in control so we’re in great hands.
Blake’s deal is for 8 years and it has deferred money to bring his cap number down. He has 1 year left on his RFA deal so this gives the Canes total control of his rights for 9 seasons.
If Laf signed this extension I’d be doing backflips.

Bryz and the Khabibulin? What? Has to be at end of their careers.
