With the Preds OT win in Chicago,they are in the WC2 spot by 3 points

Even with the Kings getting a point out today’s game with Utah,the Kings are still only 2 points out of a WC2 spot,4 points behind Edmonton for third place and 5 points behind Vegas for second place in the Pacific Division.

They are doing exactly that. The last game they won was a week ago and it was against the worst team in the East. A fluke goal got them a point last night.

after 2 games in Canada Kings will play 7 games in a row at Crypto, but we all know how they are at home this season .
BTW if they make playoffs their chances to play vs Vegas is almost same 12 % as Colorado. Also because of weak Pacific wild card qualifying number is only 85-86 points,not 90 like every year

The whole Central Division can jump the Kings. It’s a matter on if Vegas keeping playing under .400 hockey. Personally, I think Vegas will pick it up just enough. They just beat Dallas. But it’s making for a hilarious conclusion to this stupid season.

Nice thing is this year’s draft is said to have top-end talent available as late as pick 15, so if the Kings miss the playoffs they should be in good position wherever they land. That’s also the funny thing about the Eastern conference teams outside the playoffs like Detroit having more points than teams like the Ducks who are likely to win the Pacific.

FIFY to properly describe how much the Pacific sucks. There are currently 4 teams in the East who will miss the playoffs but would have home ice in the Pacific.

Whomever wins the division will have a banner hanging in their arena that reminds everyone they managed to suck a little less in the worst division since the Thrasher era Southleast.
