The Pacific Division Thread

Another way to look at the standings. The goal differential. At the end of the year the standings pretty much match the goal differential rankings. Last season the final standings and goal differential rankings aligned perfectly in the Western Conf. Below is the current goal differential ranking. The Kings are behind all of the Wildcard contenders minus the Sharks.

With the pity point the Kings got in their SO loss to Calgary tonight now 74points,they are only 3 points out of the WC2 held by the Preds with 77points,and 4 points out of 3rd in the Pacific Division held by Vegas with 78 points with 11 games left in the season.Unfortunately,I wouldn’t be surprised,if the Kings lost in Vancouver on Thursday night, even though I did pick the Kings to win on the Predict the road trip post.
Here is the updated version of the WC race on the Western Conference

This is unbelievable, all the teams in the Eastern Conference playoff race would leading the Pacific Division and no team in the Pacific Division would be in the playoff hunt except for Anaheim

It’s a race against VGK. And by race I mean who can trip over their own feet less while jumping in a potato sack.

Vegas plays:
-EDM twice
-Avs once
-Kraken twice, who seem to have a chip on their shoulder when playing the Knights because of a last team expansion grudge
-WSH once who are bad but have more wins and another point over Vegas

Of course you know what this means if Kings actually stumble into third.

There are two teams in the Western Conference with less wins than the Kings.
Vancouver and Chicago. And most likely Chicago will overtake the Kings in wins by the weekend.
