With the score tied at 2-2 late in the third period #71 of the Preds took an undisciplined slashing penalty which led to a Devils PPG and 3-2 lead and a 4-2 win in regulation.That penalty took the Preds out of at least getting a point in the game.The Oilers won in OT vs Vegas 4-3.
The updated WC2/3rd place in the Pacific Division race on Thursday 3/26/26,has the Kings 1 point behind the Preds(who play the Habs in Montreal on Saturday,and 3 points behind Vegas(who play the Caps on Saturday)for third place in the Pacific Division.The Kings play Utah at home on Saturday.

The Kings had the opportunity to move into the WC 2 spot by 1 point since the Preds lost in regulation,an opportunity to move 2 points behind Utah for the WC1 spot,now the Kings are 6 points out,and better yet,tie Vegas at least for 3rd in the Pacific Division until Vegas gained a point from their game vs the Caps,to move 3 points ahead of the Kings for 3rd in the Pacific Division.But instead,the Kings players and thier coaching staff decided not to show up and got blown out 6-2 vs the Utah Mammoth.
