Yeah...I think tradition/smadition. It's a new Star Wars, time to distance from the previous and judge it as it's own entity. And to be honest, Disney is dead set on the release date(as far as the year) and rumor is that JJ is none too happy with the rush...so maybe it's a concession to allow more time.

Since Disney has Marvel, too, they should sick JJJ on him. Outranks him by a J.

Even though I disagree with him, TF he is is the guy who directed the second or third highest grossing movie of all time.
 
I disagree with Joss about The Empire Strikes Back. It did have an ending. It just isn't the one that makes the whole audience feel good about the universe afterward, and it's part of what makes this the best Star Wars movie. He goes further to say that the reason he feels betrayed by the ending is because it does not meet his expectation of the category in which he places the movie, which I can understand; but again, that is part of what makes Empire great.

However, I agree with Joss about the difference between Buffy and some of the current popular vampire fare. A peculiar thing about his note, however, is that the way he differentiates Buffy is that it dashes conventional expectations, the same reason he bashes ESB.
