The Star Wars thread

The Star Wars stuff at Disneyland is awesome. Got some movie props and such where innoventions used to be. Didn't wait in line to meet Chewie or Vader. Hyperspace Mountain is a good rework of Space Mountain. Feel like you're in space fighting the Tie Fighters. Also, the ride is darker than before. Much better feel to it. Star Tours has some updated footage. Our ship stopped in a scene that must be from the upcoming movie since I didn't recognize it from the first 6 episodes. Also, Bob Fett accompanied Darth Vader when he approached our ship. BB8 had a nice segment communicating with R2D2.

The Pathway to The Jedi is where Captain Eo used to be. Basically it is Obi Wan Kenobi telling the story of the Jedi. Shows where they have come from (Episodes 1-3 footage) When Luc and Leia were the next hopes and then goes into the movie trailer we have all seen for The Force awakens. Has a nice flow to it. Now, I'm even more excited about the upcoming move.

All attractions are a must see for Star Wars Fans. Since it is almost Chanukah, I will depart by saying, "May the Schwartz be With You!"

Yeah, well...there's the complication. Basically just about EVERYTHING can be considered a spoiler. And as we get closer it's going to get worse. A second thread just adds to the potential confusion. I trust the people here to police themselves...old school NHL style. And honestly, no offense to anyone...but the only true way to avoid spoilers is to stay off teh interwebz indefinitely. Facebook, Yahoo news, whatever...I guarantee if you traipse across the www, you are putting yourself in the path of a bullet. Let's all be good to our fellow LGK'rs and ASK YOURSELF before posting.

There’s been some debate recently about whether there should be no more merchandise with you in the “Return of the Jedi” bikini.

I think that’s stupid.

To stop making the merchandise?

The father who flipped out about it, “What am I going to tell my kid about why she’s in that outfit?” Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear that stupid outfit, and then I killed him because I didn’t like it. And then I took it off. Backstage.

It's funny, but I think it misses the main point. That explains the movie portion just fine, but there's not really a need to make the toy for it. I'd rather buy Leia in the speeder bike outfit for my daughter than the bikini one. We talk about formative years and raising kids to be whatever they want...so I'm not sure a slave girl in a bikini pushes that ideal.

Carrie handled the movie part great, when it comes to the toy you do what every other person who finds something not to their taste is, don't buy it. Eventually they'll stop making them.
