The Star Wars thread

I don't think any Bosnians with lisps died, but many Bothans did.

And they really nailed the casting for Mon Mothma on this one. I was just about convinced they had the original actress, Cariline Blakiston, but she's 83.

I knew I has that mostly right which is meant it had to be wrong.

Moff Tarkin looked pretty impressive if thats who that was supposed to be.

^ No Disney Elite Series or Unmasked Kylo Hasbro figure? :)

I got the WM BB-8 cover and for C$5 more, I am not sure how it is worth the price difference, even if there's a "Galactic Connection" piece inside.

Oh, and according to blu-ray.com there are black embossed top/front "Blu-Ray" logo cases which have the disks stacked on the spindle vs. a printed top/front "Blu-Ray" logo which has one disk on each side of the case. Doesn't bother me either way.

Guaranteed a second release later this year, I'm sure.

I had the Disney Elite one, but didn't care for the light saber, it was just smooth and round, no texture like the hasbro ones. I'm still trying to track down the maskless 3.75" Kylo, if you find one, holler!

Add me to the chorus of people who think it looks ****ing fantastic (dat cast!).

BUT WHERE IS MADS MIKKELSEN??

The music is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Hearing the tones of the Imperial March at the end, in a creepy way instead of authoritative, was fantastic. I already like the soundtrack better than The Force Awakens.

It'th cool. Yourth ith more fun to thay anyway.

I'm guessing Tarkin is the one reading the charges in the opening of the trailer, but that uniform is so distinctly different. MY initial reaction was that it could not be Tarkin, since Mon Mothma only appeared in Episode VI where she mentioned the Bothans, and that was the second Death Star (she made a brief, non-speaking appearance in Episode III). Tarkin went boom with the first Death Star. Then, watching the trailer a few more times and talking with some geeks at work, that uniform is a an Admiral's uniform (6 red over 6 blue). So maybe Tarkin got a promotion after those scenes. Also, the base in the initial scene is Yavin, which was abandoned in Episode IV. Then you've got the rebel guards running around in the doofus helmets in that base, so yeah...it's clearly a prelude to Episode IV and the first Death Star.

What else is interesting to note is that the brief scene when you first see the potential Tarkin, he's holding a gun.

Ahhhh bothans 2nd star, Tarkin dead ok all the lineage is lining up correctly. I guess I'll sit back and enjoy the hype then.

I don't think that's Tarkin, from what I've read he's supposed to be an imperial defector. what I want to know is who's in the black cloak in the room with the two imperial guards.

Trying to think of the timeline and getting a bit of a headache, but... any possibility that Felicity Jones' character is Rey's mom?

There are 34 years between Rogue One and TFA, and Rey is 19 in TFA. So anything's possible.

Alden Ehrenreich Frontrunner To Play Han Solo In 'Star Wars' Spinoff

After impressing everyone with his turn in Francis Ford Coppola's "Tetro," he was a hot ticket in the industry, but he didn't catch fire right away. However, the actor has quietly built up a resum? working with some top shelf auteurs — Woody Allen ("Blue Jasmine"), Park Chan-Wook ("Stoker"), Warren Beatty (his Howard Hughes project), and the Coens ("Hail, Caesar!" — easily the bright spot of that disappointing picture) — and now it looks like he's going to step into the big time.

Ehrenreich is now being reported as the frontrunner for the young Han Solo "Star Wars" spinoff movie. The casting process has been quite drawn out, and last we heard, the actor was on a shortlist of finalists that included Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") and Jack Reynor ("Transformers"). Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing the movie, and of course, no details have been revealed just yet, other than Chewbacca will obviously appear.

There is no official word from Disney or Lucasfilm yet, but it seems a formal announcement is imminent. The young Han Solo movie will be released on May 25, 2018.
