As someone mentioned,what a bizarre game this was between the Leafs and the Kings,with the Kings winning in OT by a somewhat gift on a breakaway in OT by Nylander,as he whiffed on the possible GWG.The Kings came back down with Kempe passing the puck to Panarin,who passed the puck to Byfield for the GWG in OT for a 7-6 win.Both goalies assisted on the game tying goal.Woll in the second period to tie the game at 2-2,and Kuemper on the game tying goal to tie the game at 6-6 late in the third period.The Preds won thier gam vs the Sharks in San Jose 6-3,and Vegas won thier game 5-1 vs the Oilers in Edmonton,which puts Vegas 5 points ahead of the Kings for 3rd place in the Pacific Division.

Nice to see Byfield hit 20 goals all things considered. 7 goals 4 assists in 15 games under DJ Smith. Trevor Moore with 4 goals and 7 assists post-Hiller. Laf 5 goals 6 assists.

But the Kings should have scored right before the whiff... so the breakaway was a gift to begin with.

My texts to friends during the games are pretty much the same. "Kings suck", "Woo", "Kings suck", "The cup is ours". The entire season has been like that, just more goals for and against now.

I would like to see Panarin passing to Fiala next season.

I don’t know what to say about this game. We won, woo-hoo!!! Except we have a lot of flaws. We played one of the few teams already eliminated & we barely beat them. We also got bailed out on 2 disallowed goals & a whiffed breakaway. But at least they had something in them to not give up. So I’ll take that along with the 2 points.

I didn’t get to see his 20th because my DVR cut off right at the end of regulation. I even set the damn recording to extend for an extra 30 minutes. It’s disappointing to miss these benchmarks, because I’ve put so much work into compelling this kid to the next level.

Ironically, I watched that movie Whiplash for the first time, right afterwards..

Not sure I’d classify the disallowed goals as bail-outs, but with Dumoulin yet again failing to clear with a weak backhand along the boards, Darcy not making saves, Eddie/Kopi turnovers, it was indeed ugly. The whiff by Nylander was a gift.

My apologies but I have been following this season from afar (due to Hiller) and have recently been watching closer. I know Fiala was injured by Wilson in the Olympics, but where is Kuzmenko? I heard he was hurt but didn't think it was long term?

Do you think they'll resign Kuzy? I'm not sure. I don't see him anywhere else but the 2nd line & I think Laf is a better fit. I'll miss him but it makes more sense that he walks.

IMO it makes the most sense to keep Kuz and somehow (along with other moves, of course) transform Fiala into a top 6 center or a top 4 puck moving D-man. Slot Kuz on a 3rd line and get him PP time.

I would rather the 3rd line be a checking line, which I don't see Kuzy being a part of.
