Turcotte called up

Oilers fans were saying the same thing about 6 weeks ago.

They have another little while before they get to the point of no return. There has been little sign of them righting the ship though.

I was a bit surprised that QB is out given he practiced yesterday and all indications were that he was going to play. I'm also shocked (but happy) that the Kings called Turcotte up and are playing him right away.
 
Byfield waiting for the trade papers to be signed and the press release. o_O

I was shocked Todd would play Turcotte too but glad he did. It’s what I want to see at this point. I’m hopeful Thomas gets in a couple games also.

I have been hoping for a while that Turc would take over Lizotte's 4C spot. Love Lizzo but he is too small for that position. Move Blake to a wing when he comes back if Turcotte continues to play well.

Not that they're doing any better, but CBJ benching Gaudreau, Laine ... CGY has benched Huberdeau ... NJD benched Maier ... Hell, Cooper even benched Stamkos/Kucherov/Pointe ... coaches do bench their stars to send a message. If the current message is not being received then alternatives need to be taken. Doughty even said it. It's up to the players to play what the coaches are coaching. So, if they aren't, they need to sit.

Laine has bigger issues apparently, entered NHLPA assistance program. But yeah, anything is possible and I'd love to see Todd (or whomever the next coach is) sit guys if needed and send a message.

This seems to be happening at a much higher rate this season than ever before, unless I’ve been oblivious to it. Anyone else notice this?

I honestly haven't paid much attention, but you may be right. There are at least 4 this season that are not related to the sexual assault case. Laine, Vrana, Spencer Knight & Nichushkin.

It’s a very interesting question. Blake would add another million against the cap and for an older player, but could alleviate both franchises of their respective albatross centers. Would be something if it turned into a win-win.

There are no rumors around this of course, just a hypothetical here.
