If this game doesn’t make it painfully evident that Fiala is a marked man by the officials, I’m not sure what further proof could be needed. Especially with the very same stick transgression committed by a Utah player against Mikey in a crucial zone clearing defense situation that led to a Utah goal. The blatant missed trip against Kempe late in the game was also vexing, and given the lopsided officiating, I’m actually surprised the refs didn’t call him for a high stick after he was upended.

Coach seemed to think the calls were legit given he benched him.

Nice to see Kuemper back, also nice to see that even without doughty the Kings are just better than that team. Doesn't mean they can beat them without trying a bit, but they're better than them in a 7 game series. Hope Turcotte is ok and like others I wouldn't have minded one bit if Jeannot or someone else spent a little time in the box with an interference penalty of their own. Fiala is going to have to clean up the bed he's made, Kempe's gotten a lot fairer shake over the years from when he used to take the stick fouls.
