With Sunday’s final game of the Memorial Cup now complete, all LA Kings prospects have officially wrapped up their 2023-24 seasons. Unfortunately for Kaleb Lawrence and the London Knights, their run at junior hockey’s annual crowning event didn’t end with a trophy celebration.

After falling behind 3-0 to the host Saginaw Spirit, London eventually came back to tie things up — which was rather remarkable in itself considering the Knights were held to just six shots through 40 minutes of play. It was all for naught, though. Canucks prospect Josh Bloom recorded the game-winner with only 22 seconds remaining in regulation, handing Saginaw their first Memorial Cup championship.

Courtesy of the Ontario Hockey League, here are select highlights from the game:

Lawrence was the only current Kings prospect to participate in the tournament. Defenseman Angus Booth was close. However, his team lost in the QMJHL championship final. That also essentially ended his junior career, as the 20-year-old rearguard is expected to join AHL Ontario next season.

After signing his NHL Entry Level Contract with the Kings two weeks ago, Lawrence is also targeted for the Reign next. More on that story can be found in the article linked below.
